After having my 65 Skylark sit for 2 months my dad started it this morning. He wanted to take for a spin to get the cob webs out while the car is waiting for body panels. He didnt seem to happy when he got back though.
Dave I got in an accident with it. Its cosmetically crapolla. And I messed up the front suspension a little bit. Hitting a curb at 30 mph usually does that. So I basically need a good bodied not running car which I know I will never find for a good price. I dont want to get rid of it I have so much time and money invested into it and I know I wont get diddly for it. I cant even look at it anymore its so depressing just rotting there and I cant do anything about it. Everytime I try to get parts something happens. And then its opprotunity wasted. I want to cry every time I look at the freaking cover. Bruce (or Shirl) My dad wasnt happy with the way it was running. He said it just didnt want to go. Probably needs oil after sitting for 2 months. I cant even do any engine work to it. My dad is being so anal about me working on the car. Im like dad I wanna start doing some engine work while we are trying to find body parts. At least get that out of the way for now. "No." Why? "Uhhh, (he has to think of an excuse) theres not enough room." (Ok get rid of one of your motorcycles. Its not like you ride them anymore) OR " I dont want you to start working on the engine until we get the front end apart." I dont understand. Fine Ill just let it sit and rot and it will be his fault.
