wonder if this could work?

Ok this will probibly sound outlandish and stupid, but hey i am a new guy so i can me such. How about take a 455 stage 1 and have a dual plenium cross ram style sheet metal intake made for it, fuel injected, and twin turbo charge it? It would be beyond expensive, and you would have trouble fitting the intercoolers in. and stuff all that into a 87 regal...i am sure it is possiable, but across hell's half acre trom practil. just an idea that popped into my head the other night when my GF made me watch "sleepless in seattle." Let me know what you torque mongers think.

    I share your dream

Love to do that myself. If only I had more money than brains. :) Needless to say, you need a hugely strenghthened bottom end to run any appreciable boost in a BBB. There are good reasons why there aren't a lot of people out there running blown BBB's.

If it were me, and I had the wallet and stomach for it, I'd build that turbo V-8 monster and stick it in a BMW or a Checker Marathon.

The Checker is an easy bet. I always liked the styling, there's an acre under that hood, and all you'd be replacing is an anemic Chevy small-block. A car that heavy needs torque, and a BBBB (boosted big block Buick) would be just the ticket. I think that if you lowered it and put on some nice wheels, you have awesome street rod potential. Alternatively, you could just leave it in primer and you would have a great sleeper.

As far as the Bimmer goes, I think it's not as crazy as it sounds. Sure there are purists that will turn white the second you talk about destroying the integrity of precision German engineering that went into the car (or whatever). But when you look at it from a performance standpoint, it makes sense. An aluminum-head BBB actually weighs a little less than a BMW iron "big six" motor like they used in the 535, 635, and 735. Twice the displacment with less weight. It's also far lighter than any of the 8- and 12- cylinder motors they came up with before they started casting blocks out of aluminum a few years ago. With the weight the same, it won't screw up that great BMW handling. The "big six" is also a very long and tall motor (like all inline 6's) and is also pretty wide because all of the accessories, intake, and exhaust are all bolted on the sides of the block. Open up the hood of a 635 sometime -- there's loads of room for a BBB, even one with a couple of turbos.

So, in my diabolical plan, you get a bimmer 635 CSi with a bum tranny, sell off the motor for most of what you paid for the whole car, and then drop in a torque-monster 455, 200r4 or t-56, and a 8.8" rear out of a t-bird (which is almost as strong as a 9", and can be had pretty cheaply). You end up with a stylish car that handles like a beemer, runs and sounds like a Buick, goes like lightning, and pisses off snotty BMW owners everywhere! For added effect you would have to change the numbers to reflect the displacement. I just love the idea of driving around in a 674CSi. :)

    OK, back to reality...

    good dream

Woah...never thought of putting it in anything but a regal, for some reasson i am hung up on that body style, probibly becouse i currently own one with a SB chevy.
Another thought that occured to me, and i don't know if it would work what about quad intercoolers, 2 air to air and 2 air to water, like the ones on the orignal syclone/typhoon? granted you would have to have a acre of space in the front of the car, radiator, 4 intercoolers, oil cooler, and transmission cooler....hmmm
The BMW idea is neat, god i would love to have one of those woth that engine....plut a little sticker on it "powered by Buick" confuse the hell out of everybody.
