Maybe a few of you fellow Canadian GS fans can tell me what happened to three GS's that I last saw in the 1980s in London, Ontario: #1- 1970 GS Stage 1. This was a numbers matching car although it didnt run. It was brought back from Texas by a fellow from London. It was for sale for $1500 and since I was still in high school I had no cash ou: It was that bamboo creme type color with brown bucket seat interior. It had ac. The trunk pan was rotted. I think it had a brown vinyl top and those cool rare rally wheels with the doggie dish centres. Anyone? #2- Black on black 71 Stage 1. It had the N25 if I remember correctly. Last seen in about 1990 and the rear quarters were getting soft.. #3- 71 GS 455 Convertible. It was near mint and a one owner car. Only deviation from stock was wire wheels. It also had an N25. It was also that bamboo creme color with brown interior and a white top. Super rare and I remember telling the owner this and he said "nah, they made tons of them"... I'd love to hear if anyone on here owns or knows about these cars.. Thanks Todd
Sorry, don't know about the cars. Just wondering if you went to the Woodstock swap meet and if there was any Buick stuff? Thanks Ian
Will do. There is a fellow that I am sure is on here who owns a 70 Stage 1 ragtop who lives near London whom I used to talk to quite a bit years ago. I think he worked for Bell. He knew the story on just about every GS in the area so I am hoping he will read this post! He also has a 72 GSX and had a Grand National. No, I didnt make it to Woodstock this year unfortunately. Todd
I've got a canadian 1970 GS originaly diplomat blue, 350, split bench ,pearl white.... Now Black with pearl. Amherstburg area. I have a list of all the original owners of the car... I know of only 2 other cars in this area.( not to say there aren't more.)
chris: i have one of the local gs cars, 1972, fully documented by gm canada. i have a list of the three previous alberta owners and i have the build sheet. i know that there is a 72 ? red gs convertible around a'burg also. there also exists another gs hardtop in windsor, garaged as i talked to the owner in frankenmuth, 2003. have not seen him since. there is a 70 gs white hardtop in essex somewhere. a 70 white custom ragtop(cloned to a gsx) is in lasalle. we will have to get together and compare notes.
