I was driving my 72 conv 350 I pulled away from stop and car died engine spins over nothing happens long story short i'm fed up with my points dist. I ran across an hei buick 350 dist from a wrecked car engine was running attime been sitting a while installed hei no fire pulled cap wires rotor button and module put in my chevy starts right up I checked 11.98 volts at bat terminal on hei any ideas? o No: :rant: :blast:
Are you are sure you have fuel? Working the carb throttle back, can you see the accelerator pump shoot? If you tested the module, coil cap, and rotor from your donor HEI, the only thing left is pickup coil, or wiring. Points distributors are easy to troubleshoot i would try the points distributor again with new points and condenser.
i'm getting gas but no fire at the spark plugs I guess I could check dist wires for continuity with ohm meter is there any thing in particular I should look for at the pickup?
Larry70gs U-da man! It turns out it was the pick up coil got one from advance $15 installed it this afternoon after some minor adjustments it fired right up and ran better than it had in a while I've been having trouble with the points dist for a while 2or 3 rotor buttons this past year maybe its moisture through the hood Im not sure any way thanks for the Info! :TU: :3gears: now at least i can get it back under roof
