Was wood grain on the face of the dash part of an option package on the 1970 GS with black being the standard? I can't seem to find anything on this, granted I've been accused of not being able to see things that are right in front of my face.

Woodgrain is an option...depends on what interior was installed.

Thanks. Was trying to figure out if this black dash was was screwy or not. I had only encountered wood grain which must mean I don't get out and see enough cars. :(

Typically, for 1970 at least, the woodgrain was applied as standard equipment on Skylark Custom and GS455 cars. Skylark and GS350 models would have a black dash as standard equipment, and the woodgrain as an option.

It really makes this look "off" with the woodgrain on the radio and console but not around the steering column. The car is a real GS 455 so it makes me wonder where they got the idea to mix it up when they restored the interior. The rubber band holding up the parking brake is a nice touch also.

    Sluggo,
You should add at least your first name to your signature line.

Yes, I would install the woodgrain on the cluster...nice touch...makes it more Buick.

As for the rubber band...probably broken primary e-brake cable....get a new one from
