I have an original, working Buick 8-track in the convertible. I have the Grease soundtrack, some old CCR, Lynrd Skynrd, Rolling Stones, etc. Also a Buick promo 8-track from 1970.

Got the AM / 8-track, it works, but plays a little fast. Anybody know how to slow it down?

Only have one tape, but it's all Trucker tunes, and has "Gimme 40 Acres", so it just doesn't get any better than that...

i have an 8 track am/fm radio in my 72 gs . it is a combo unit out out a 78 camaro . the previous owner of my car fabricated , out of aluminum , a special fitted bezel so that he could install a small am/fm cassette unit into the car . i merely enlarged the opening , installed 4 speakers + wiring and it works great . the fm does not work as well because of the in-windshield antenna .
i have about 50 old 8 tracks and maybe 30 are ones i purchased back in 67-74 . have purchased or been given the rest over the past 3 years . 8 track is quite a conversion piece at car shows .
i think that i have had to repair most of the tapes with silver sensor tape + sponges .

My 225 has the underdash model...has the Blues Brothers Soundtrack sitting in it, too!

Oh boy...my KISS, Neil Young, Jethro Tull, and about 70 other tapes are just itching to be played, but my dash speaker died last summer. Anyone have a BB dash speaker to spare? I don't have the foggiest idea what size it is.

I think the dash speakers were something like 4" X 10", really long things.

I put two "wal-mart special" 4" speakers in, side by side for my AM / 8-track. Wired them for left/right, which hurts the stereo separation on the 8-track, but the rears make up for it.

Did it that way because of the good JBL speakers are mounted at the left & right sides of the dash, for the hidden AM/FM/CD player.

Yup, I got 2 radios and 8 speakers in my car, when I turn them both to AM, I can play Talk Radio or Tejano music REALLY LOUD!!!  Or, I can play AM and FM at the same time, or AM and CD, or FM and 8-track, or...(somebody stop me!)
