Don't see it going at that price. It seems the ones listed here have a hard time getting half of that.

TODD'S 67 Time for another Buick!

Even if it was mint, probably wouldn't fetch a grand.

My mint star wars air cleaner with no base or filter went for $450 a couple months ago. We just saw a base by itself go for $250. This package together may reach $750, even though it's not perfect...but it's still complete.

Its not correct but I do like it better smooth.[/QUOTE]

I could see someone doing it if the ribs were all scratched. There wouldn't be anything else you could do for it. I have two of these and they are not perfect but they would have to be a lot more beat up before I sanded or filled the ribs.

The correct 'tapered top', pot metal retainer is not all that easy to find, and the chrome job was not all that great, so most are pitted, or need rechroming. There are some repros available with flat tops that do look almost original, but the flat top and edge knurling are slightly different.
An ROA Buick bud scored this 'original' for me, on evilbay, as the seller did not and would not ship Canada ?? :puzzled:

I doubt very much that the seller will get the BIN price for that air cleaner !! :eek2:
It will probably get relisted for a much lower BIN price, once the seller wakes up and faces reality !!

That smooth top version looks OK, and it's a great fix if the fine line ribs in the top were damaged beyond repair. :TU:

I don't even bother with BIN on ebay. I let the marker dictate the sale price, but if it is as rare as this air cleaner, I put a reserve on it so I don't get burned. He may have $900 in it for all we know. But I think he would've been better off with an auction style ad, as opposed to a set sale price. That $1000 price tag scares a lot of people away. I don't care how many parts he has. Does he sell any of them at the price he asks?
