I tried to sell these before and no one wants them so I will start a build with them. They came with stock 7 pins and a heavier one cut to 3.187. I was going to find a stock pin and cut them for floating Pontiac Rods but I thought I would buy light weight pins if they were cheap enough. I looked at TA's and they show 2.930 so I take it I should have more play in between the locks or I need to find longer pins? These are .030 over and that 3.187 pin is lock to lock. I will show pics of this. Here is a pic of a stock pin and the other cut pin that was the only one like it and it's heavier.
Yes. The long ones are stock but I want to go floating. I've been checking and have seen .050 clearance on pin to lock which I thought was too much but when I take your pin length on subtract it from mine we are looking at .025 clearance from pin to lock total. I just refigured, that is .257
I found a place in Cali that might have the one it takes. Their address is cprparts.com 4340 Super Duty Tapered Wall. Pt# 000-04-31 1.000 dia, 3.125 long, weight 190. That's closer to my size 3.187. That's .062, the price is a little high at 23.83 ea.
Got a hold of Mike C. at Ross pistons and he wants some pics of the pistons and he will decide what pins should be in them. I was amaized how easy that was talking to a Tech guy at Ross and willing to help! He said .030 total clearance between pin and lock minimum.
