The SP1 on my 455 doesn't allow for a nitrous plate or the Demon carb I have up top in my '66... time to cut the hood, I'd like to keep it all Buick. That being said... I need a Stage 2 Scoop asap! Anyone? Would ship to 19373 Please PM with price... Thanks! Ed
I did see that, but I assumed it had to be molded into the hood... Will that bolt right up? Because if so, I'm gonna order today!
Ed These scoops have a flange around the bottom edge that your supposed to screw or rivet the scoop to the hood, then they recommend fiberglass on the inside from the hood to the flange for insurance. The scoop they sent me had a flange that didn't even come close to matching the hood contour. While the edge of the scoop sat flat on the hood the inside/toward center, was 3/8th inch off the hood. Look at the pics in my post, I'd say if you bolt it and try to get it even remotely tight you'll crack the flange. ou: I sent mine back.
I did see that other thread... I don't know how the contour of your hoods are (68-72), but this would be going on my reasonably-flat '66 hood. I'd much prefer to buy a hood that would just fit, be it scooped/cowl/whatever... but they just aren't made for my year. Had I done a '67 front end when I smashed it up a couple years ago, I wouldn't have this problem. ou:
hood scoop I bought mine from Poston and it fit fine. Not a drop on but not a big deal to fit it. Ken
