Is this something I can buy as a repro part somewhere, or should I be looking for a used one? Or can one be made out of some plastic material??? Would anyone have one to spare? Would it be the same gasket as for the LH side just turned around???

I do not believe you can reverse a left gasket because the mounting tit will no longer be in the correct position.

They are made of hard plastic. There is some tilt built into them so it would be
noticable. It would only effect the angle of the stalk as the lens is rotatable.

Finding one will be difficult. Maybe even more so than the mirror itself.

any ideal what the part number is?

70-72 LH gasket = 9844014 The parts booKs suggest that may be the RH number also but I recall that puts the mounting tit in the wrong position.

    Thanks so far

Thanks for the comments. By the sound of things, I'll make sure if I do buy the mirror, it will be only if the gasket and mounting plate are included!!

I would not let that stop me. The mount is no big deal and you can modify a gasket to work.
