I need to locate a very nice 3 spoke black rally steering wheel to swap to a buddy to get parts I need from him.

I see Year One offers them for $199 with free shipping before any other discounts but I wasn't sure what year style it is or even the diameter. Anyone purchased one of these or know the details please?

    Thanks (Year One ad below)

The basic wheel is the same, but it will need the correct hub, attaching hardware, horn contact, etc. The CHEVY Camaro/ Chevelle style wheel will have the 'bowtie' horn center; however for a BUICK you need the CORVETTE or BUICK style wheel center (horn button) and BUICK button for the emblem

Thanks for the info Steve. I was also wondering what size wheel they sell and what year is it correct for?Kinda looks like a 72?

The aftermarket reproduction wheels are the correct size for the "STANDARD" size sport wheel. The "1970 GSX unique" wheel is a different size in the foam on the rim, if I recall correctly.

    Yes, exactly correct Pat:TU:

Still just trying to figure out the actual measurements of the Year One wheel or if someone has already researched it the actual years it is correct for, "standard" is two loose a term but thank you. Probably just call Year One

Not sure about the size of the Year One wheel but I thought the 69-70 wheel was different than the 71 and up wheels. The 69-70 wheel is larger (16"?) and has a thinner grip than the later models. I could be wrong, can someone verify this?

Found this on the internet so it must be true, lol

The optional three spoke steering wheel for the 1969 and 1970 Buick GS was similar in appearance to the NK1 cushioned rim steering wheel and the 1971 through 1975 Buick GS Rallye wheel. But the 1969 and 1970 Buick GS wheel was 16" in diameter instead of 15", was offered in a variety of colors to match the interior, was made of hard plastic instead of hard vinyl, and included a thumb groove for comfort. In fact, this steering wheel is commonly referred to as the "Thumb Groove" steering wheel in Buick circles.

Also note that the 1970 Buick GSX "Custom" steering wheel is similar in appearance to the the NK1 Cushioned Rim wheel and the 1971 through 1975 Buick GS Rallye wheel. However, this wheel used a softer foam rubber grip, had different graining, and did not have the metal band around the perimeter like the other steering wheels. Like the 1969 NK1 wheel, this steering wheel was only offered in black. It's interesting to note that because Don Yenko especially liked this wheel, he made it available on the 1970 Yenko "Deuce" Nova.

    Found it here http://www.camaros.org/swheel.shtml#misc

TPP sells a complete set up 69 and 70 Buick and the corvettes have a thinner wheel with a thumb groove on the inside and its 16" ZIP Corvette parts sells these for 199 bare. The 71 nad later Buick wheels are 15 inch no thumb groove. The repro center willl work with your existing wheel. ZIP also sells the conntacts , plastic rivits to repair your button retaining ring, and screws. I have one of TPP steering wheel thats seems to be a different plastic than original but looks right. It does have an issue with a spoke thats not installed correctly I think I can fix it.
