A lot of folks in the US have mixed feelings about our presence in Iraq and I'll tell you how I feel about it-

To me it matters not one small bit if there were 'weapons of mass destruction' found by anyone. We know that he's had them, and in fact his Scud missiles were designed to be weapons of mass destruction. In today's world, a breifcase can be a weapon of mass destruction. We had too many weapons inspectors turned away, he's hidden too much, and he's violated terms set 10 years ago too many times. For me, this means that it would have been criminal of the US to NOT intervene when we have evidence that gives us more than a reasonable cause to use our miltary. I can't think of a better example to use it than than this, really. In Iraq I feel it would have been criminally negligent to ignore this threat. How many pieces of evidence do you need before you act, anyway? I know a lot of people can rebut my points but this is how I feel personally. I am against the killing of anyone but the government of this country has am obligation to see to the safety of it's citizens here and abroad. This may not have been the best way to bring about change, but then again I am of the opinion that it's better to make a decision and do SOMETHING rather than do nothing and try to talk the problem away. To many people across the world we are bullies. Well, I note that the "fact" that we are bullies to them doesn't prevent us from giving them money and aid. Since when is it wrong for the US to protect US interests? Anyway, I'm off the soapbox.

Here's to all the servicemen and servicewomen regardless of nationality that have sacrificed so much to answer the call of duty and make Saddam's capture come about:beer
