Hellacious storm came through us with sideways winds and almost no visibility rain a couple hours ago along with CLOSE lightning strikes.
Whole farmhouse shook (tree was 20 ft from our house)
Crushed my shipping crate and everything inside.
Will fire up the chainsaw tomorrow and see if anything is salvageable.
At least it didn’t hit the house this time, last time a “small branch”stabbed into the house via the roof and almost got my wife with flying debris.
Can always be worse but still sucks

Looks like you came close to a repeat. At least you’ve got firewood for a while now! Glad to hear nobody got hurt!

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Glad it wasn't the home. What is/was in the crate, may I ask?

    Gantry train trolly system
,multilevel plexiglass sorting cabinet, and “treasures” from our 40 year old family business we closed down and sold. Didn’t have time or room to store in safer place.
We have 2 more hours of warning just added, hope it doesn’t come back for an encore!

Hey Fritzee, It could have been a lot worse... Whatever the next major hurricane was after Hurricane Hugo (1989) ... Anyhow, during THAT next one, only ONE major tree was felled in my town... And it would land on top of ONE car... Guess who's 1986 light blue metallic code 25 paint It landed on top of? ANNNNNNGK! Times up. Yep, Mine... At least most of the drivetrain parts were salvageable, except for the transmission case (just had been rebuilt...) So I swapped the internals and valvebody to another case, and swapped the wiring and rest of drivetrain to an 84 t-type that I bought without a Trans and With a blown engine. At least it wasn't all lost... Even though I did love that light blue color...

I think the oil pan is ok, looks to me like it's just ready for a girdle. ;)
