Since the board is acting up, and I will not be able to get that other thread ttt, then I will post it here.

Today I had a specialist lawnmower builder come to my house and inspect it, started it up, and had him tell me what it sounded like. He said it sounds like it needs a new diaphragm, and if that's the case, then good. When I rebuilt this motor I inspected the valves(exhaust/intake) and the seats, and neither looked bad. Also lapped the valves for a good seal. But if it isn't the diaphragm, then I'll take Joe's advice. Thanks joe(nailheadina67) :TU:

I guess we will see tommorow(if he can get a chance to work on it between now and then).

Well got it back and mowed a whole yard and the outskirts of it and the mower runs like a new one. It needed a new diaphragm, and now that it has that it runs like a champ. :TU:

I'm glad you fixed it Cody......most of those old Craftsman mowers had float carbs on them, I thought that's what you had. Them diaphragms dry up and get stiff all the time. The older 2 cycle Toro snowthrowers use that diaphragm carb and that's what usually causes most of the trouble with them too. :bglasses:
