    What did we do???

    Allied story:

In the early 1900's, my grandmother on my mother's side owned and ran a cooperage in Ohio. They switched to making plastic bags in the 1950's--one of the first to make "polyethylene" bags in the county.

Fast forward to about 2000; I got a letter from the EPA telling me I had to pay a $10 million dollar fine for polluting the ground around the plant in those days! I wrote back that I was not born then and that everyone connected with the operation had passed away. They did not care. I had to hire an attorney to deal with this.

Seems like the past is always with us!

    Cheers!

They are just looking for the "Deep" pockets. They usually won't give up until you pay unfortunately.

A friend used to run his own exotic car repair business. He disposed of his waste oil via an EPA certified contractor. It turns out that the contractor was dumping the waste oil in a non-approved site New Hampshire. You guessed it - The EPA came after my friend. The matter is still in litigation more then 10 years later.

I spent 35 Years working there. You'd be suprized at all the different chemicals I saw dumped or buried.
