#2...Something with a big-assed blower sticking out of the hood (don't care what brand)

    #3...Sonya always has wanted another black/gold '79 Z28.

There are tons of cars I would love to own both new and old. My wife and I had a similar conversation when we saw a garage filled with collector cars on a TV show and I commented the garage was not big enough for me if I had that kind of money. She challenged me to name 30 cars I would get and I had no trouble filling that quota. If I had to narrow it to just 3 I guess I'd have to start with my dream of having 3 1964 Skylarks that look similar but are built for 3 different purposes.
    1. Immaculate bodied cruiser with a mild 455, air ride, A/C, fuel injection, overdrive auto, nice stereo. A perfect cruiser.
    2. JW built 555" all aluminum BB, a couple turbos, tubbed, tube chassis. Purpose built drag car with a Buick heartbeat.
    3. G-machine chassis, LS based engine, 6 spd manual. Corner carving classic with modern underpinnings.

It's a trick question. If you have that kind of money you don't need any car, the drugs and hookers will come to you :Smarty:

That's kinda a Spinal Tap moment right there

32 ford coupe. Built flathead, juice brakes, 4 speed.
56 Buick convertible. 425 dual quad, four speed.
    49 or 50 Ford F-1. 460.

Any of them work for a family rig since it's just my daughter and I.
They would all be reasonably fast and they would all be good looking.

Since they have to be new in this fantasy......
    Fast.....Corvette ZR1
Family hauler.......Cadillac CST-V Wagon with the Tremec 6 speed transmission
    For looks......Aston Martin Vantage V12

After I have loaded my 3-car garage with these beauties, there would be no room for my Sporty. In that case, it would be sent away for a nice frame off restoration, using a "more money than brains" approach and I would deal with the space issue when it was done.

    1. 1967 Pontiac GTO that I would build into a drag car, built Pontiac 455 or 400.
    2. 1967 Buick Skylark (my car. Nothing changed to it whatsoever, I want to do the work on it myself.)
    3. 1927 Buick 4 seat sedan t-bucket style hotrod. Nailhead.

Bonus 4th and 5th cars, because I'm awesome like that: 57 Buick wagon.(Stock appearing, but hotrodded.) And...a 1953 GMC pickup, 4 wheel drive, upgraded drive train.

Oh, and an old Indian motorcycle. And a 1973 Chevy Blazer with the removable top, set up to be an offroad toy. Oh, and a 1955 Peterbilt truck body fabricated to fit on a big 1 ton pickup frame. And a Buick 215 v8 trike. And a v8 dune buggy(with heavy-duty roll cage and racing harnesses.)

If I couldn't find an old 1927 Buick sedan that wasnt good hot rod material(past stock original restoration), I would be just as happy with a 4 door Dodge Brother's sedan from the same year. Set up as a hot rod, of course, but with an old Dodge engine(Im a big fan of engine loyalty). If it was a hard-top convertible, that'd be cool too.

As you can see, I think factory cars are awesome, but they are even more awesome when you upgrade them to your liking. Also, I don't like the whole "3 car" rule. I have 6 already, and I'm 18, and I'm poor. If you do your own work, and are willing to learn, almost anything is possible in the hot rod world. And none of these cars listed cost nearly as much as a Bugatti or a Lamborghini would. I could probably get all of these for the price of one Bugatti if I shopped well enough. I could add 5 or 6 more cars to this list easy(71 Cuda convertible w/426 Hemi, big bucks), but I'll leave it at what it is. :pp Sorry, I just can't follow the rules on this one. In my opinion, a car is never really YOUR car until you've built it like you want it. Oh, and rich people don't have to worry about zoning.

Also, Bugattis can reach 260 mph, sure. But what they don't tell you is that you can only do 260 mph for about 4 minutes before your fuel tank is empty. That's ok though, because that's about 3 minutes longer than your tires would last at that speed.

The original thread said "new car shopping". With that condition, I would purchase a new red Viper, A white Bentley Continental GTC with red leather, and a Dodge Charger SRT8.
