while the motor is still in the car, you can get the timing cover off in under a hour with out getting under the car.

That is using only hand tools

I'm pretty good with the trans myself. Had it out in just under an hour by myself.:3gears:

Many years ago when I worked for Buick I could pull the timing cover , replace the crank seal , reinstall and drive out of shop in less than one hour . No I didn't take a coffee break .

By the time you finish your restoration you're too old and weak to push the clutch pedal in......

Ken I think you are talking about me now, on being too old to push the clutch by the time I get it back together , so I will just use an automatic . :Do No:

Oh OK sounds a lot like mine . My car has been parked for over 4 years and the biggest part I have done is puling the bumpers , but I do have a ton of parts . I hope and pray I can find them when time for reassembly starts . Some of us older guys have memory problems . :pp

...when you have the exact combination of swivel sockets and extensions memorized for each bolt to unbolt (or install) the tranny from the motor (while in the car, of course).

On high mileage 455's, you regard that bearing knock at idle as all systems are go!
