I'll try to get a couple of photos up soon, but we removed the bed and cleaned out the fuel system. The truck is back onna road as of today. The problem is that MTS supplies their plastic fuel tanks with O-rings for the sender that have a square cross section and are made from stuff that has the consistancy of dense foam rubber. There is no positive way of positioning the O-ring so that it will stay put. Both O-rings "squeegeed" their way out of position, allowing water to enter the fuel tanks. There was much disassembly and cleaning involved in the repair (along with the removal of the bed), but the major change was to install the factory O-rings that have a round cross-section and are made of a firmer neoprene compound. The factory rings have three tabs that positively locate the O-ring around the sender opening. I sealed them with a fuel-resistant RTV compound, then coated the senders with an aircraft fuel tank "sloshing" compound. A rubber flap made from an old truck tire inner tube was then installed over the senders. The damn things will not leak now. BTW: We removed an estimated three gallons of water from the two tanks. Now all I have to do is remove and clean the fuel tank selector valve. Oh, Happy Day...

I have a few redneck pics.I think your truck truck is cool with the nailhead power.I have a 401 nailhead in a 40 coupe it runs strong it has the old knee shocks so when I drop down a gear and nail it the front comes way up and down the road it goes.

John, if you just flush the valve by undoing the carb, and then activating the fuel pump,,,, it should be OK.... a lot easier than taking it apart....just switch the valve back and forth several times to clear each line.... Now about that carb,,,,   You thought maby that I had forgotten about that.....  Let me spell it out for you... H-O-L-L-E-Y

Seriously for a minute -the NRA sticker is inna safe along with my guns. Idiots around here look for the NRA stickers and find out where you live in order to steal the guns. I have a friend to whom this happened. His S&W pistol was used in a triple murder. The police have told him that it will be years until he gets his pistol back. The pistol is evidence in the trial and any appeals.
Doc - I am so PO'd at Edelbrock that at the moment Holley looks pretty good to me.
A little late, but happy VJ day!

Actually, I do remember VJ day.... just barely,,,, Mom was canning peaches when they announced that Japan had surrendered.... and naturally she starts squalling and bawling .... and she ruined every jar of the peaches because instead of putting sugar in them, she put salt....in those days sugar and salt came in sewn cloth bags....
