The Riv I have now. Bought it back from the guy I sold it to ten years later. Have had it over 30 years. Saw the ad in the local weekly auto trader, knew it was my car and bought it back.
Also found my first one after looking for years. Guy was a flipper and wanted way more than it was worth considering the condition and what was needed to bring it back.

Yeah, I'm guilty of this and more than once. I owned this 70 GS455 4 speed 3 different times.

Yes, I have owned the white 67 twice. Own it now and 12 years earlier.
I sold it to a friend who is also a member here on V8Buick. He sold it after owning it for a few years to a man who lives near him who kept it a few years then sold it back to him. He kept it for a few more years and sold it back to me a couple years back. Sounds confusing when I read it, but that's what happened.

I had a 67 Wildcat convertible that I owned twice, never paid a dollar for it either time.
I first got the car in 1989, I traded a 64 Olds Dynamic 88 for it. It was a recovered theft, and more or less in derelict condition; but it had low miles and was mostly all there. I kept it and wanted to get it restored, saved my pennies, and then when I thought I had enough, found out it wasn't anywhere near close to enough, then sold it, - it went as a partial trade along with my restoration budget on the 66 Electra I just recently got rid of.
So fast forward 8 years, and I have my big black 46 Super at a local car show, and this older gentleman approaches me and begins drooling over my car. Turns out he owns the Wildcat, and he wants to trade for the Super. I threw the keys at him, and had my Wildcat back, except this time it was fully restored and absolutely gorgeous.
This is the car completed, it was a stunner. 3 guys went broke restoring it during the years I didn't own it, and when I got it back and registered it, I was able to put my custom plate back on as if it had never left my possession; it had only done 3000 miles since I'd let it go.

I kept it for a couple more years after that, and realized that it would need all the mechanical work I just finished doing to the Electra to make it perfect again. I physically can't do that anymore, nor did I want the hassle and expense of all of that, so I sold it again. It broke my heart; but, I think I'm better off without it and hopefully it's doing well with it's new owner.

Not like started above but there was a 69 Cougar that I sold 4 times. First guy didnt finish paying for the car, went and repoed it. Same for the next 2 buyers. Last guy paid cash in full.

I bought a 1975 VW Scirocco in 1978. I traded my ‘66 Dodge Dart (in the “first car” thread) for it. My mom co-signed the loan but I had to make the payments. I had it for several years and then sold it to one of my best friends. He is a VW/Porsche/Audi fanatic and I knew it was in good hands. Several years later he sold it to another guy that we worked with. He didn’t have all the cash at once so Pat let him pay for it over time. He got where he still owed Pat $500 but just would never pay it. Pat told me that he never should have given him the title because he would probably never see that last $500.
One day the guy came to me (he knew I used to own it), and asked if I wanted to buy it. I said, sure, how much? He said $1000. I said I would take it and that I would give him $500 and I would give Pat $500. He got a strange look on his face (I knew he was planning on screwing Pat out of the $500 because I had overheard him saying it) but he agreed.
So I got my old Scirocco back and it was much better and faster than when I sold it. Pat had put an 1800cc Golf GTI motor in it will dual side draft Del’orto carburetors and lots of other go-fast goodies.
I kept it for several more years and then it passed on.

Imported this in 2017, sold in 2018, traded it back in september 2022, spent 5.5 months taking it pretty much total apart and restoring or upgrade everything but internals of motor. Now serves as the street/strip car. Low 11’s all steel and 3.42.

Old school built, 464, iron heads ported by Zerucha, iron intake ported, window rattler, stock rockers, 10.90-1 comp, MT SS headers, street/strip Q-jet, stock dist with crane XRI, TH350 with good stuff inside and a JW 3200 stall and 3.42 out rear. Nothing fancy but it works.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

On 1/1/23 we bought back this Nova that I owned from 1999-2011. My oldest son (age 14) wants a '69 Camaro project car (strange kid) and this inexpensive Nova is the much more economical starting point.

When I sold it in 2011 it was a complete, almost untouched, original car that was a little rough but ran and drove great. The buyer was a good friend that was looking for a project car. In late 2022 he said they have decided to sell it and work on different project vehicles. I told him that if he would put it back together so that it will roll, I'll buy it back. He actually did some really nice work to the car that will save me some time as we go forward with it.

This car left the factory with only one option, tinted glass. Otherwise, it is very bare bones, lightweight base model car (6-cylinder, column shift 3-speed manual transmission, manual steering, manual brakes, no A/C, no radio, no cigarette lighter, rubber floor covering, no dome light switch on the passenger door, no seat belt retractors, etc.)

Our plan is to build a basic but fast street car. I've already purchased an 8-point chromoloy cage for it since it will probably be faster than we expect. I already had an engine sitting here that didn't have a suitable car to call home. The powerplant is a modified LSA engine (supercharged 6.2 liter LS engine) from another friend's CTS-V Cadillac. The Cadillac tipped the scales at 4,550 with driver but ran 9.84 @ 140 at Bowling Green so it makes really good power. This Nova will probably weigh about 1,200 pounds less than the Cadillac so it should be way faster than we need.

I used to have a well optioned 71 (AC, power steering, vinyl top, 307 V8, TH350, etc.) and it weighed in at 3100 lbs. That thing should be a rocket ship!

Got it in 1978 Sold this in 1982 because I was broke. 4 years later the guy who had it still had never put it in his name. I went there and traded him out of it. Got a lost title and never looked back. Its been in my name since 1978 And its still here in my shop.
