Well Guys look around the forum, alot of us youngens are getting involved in the musclecar game. Maybe my\our generation aren't all into the rice games. Hopefully we will be able to provide a good rep for our beloved Buicks for years to come.

So Heres to the old guys providing us will all the knowledge we will ever need for our cars. :beers2:

Heres to us young guys who want to learn all we can from said "old guys" :beers2:

    Hey Louie,

We oldsters could not be happier to see enthusiam from anyone and everyone when it comes to this kind of interest.

When we are condescending towards anyone new, you need to step up & bust our chops, young & old alike.

I am often short with folks at times but the last thing I would ever wish to do is dampen the interest of a Buick owner, or any other brand for that matter.

Don't be afraid to kick us in the ass every now & then. It's educational.

Just adding on to what Louie's saying, thanks to everyone that's started to help me, hopefully we'll get some more diehard Buick fans out there. And ricers? In my humble opinion, only milk should come in 2 liters. I'll stick with my V8, thanks.

I'm so glad you "young" guys are here to learn and carry on!

My 11 year old daughter already told me I can't sell my GS. She wants it!!!

Nice thread Louie. All true. These guys are awesome and I couldnt have done half the things I have done without their encouragement and support. It feels good to have people to guide me and to tell me I can do something that I would have been skeptical of before.
Especially the old 68 riv guys, they know how to take care of me too.
And I am venturing into whole new territory with the 62, the nailhead guys are awesome.
Thanks everyone, one day ill give my son his buick and hopefully keep the tradition alive.

I am glad there are more young guys out there like me. I am only 24 years old. I like the style and the technology that went into the old cars. My little sister loves the old cars also. She is only 12 and likes to help me do restoration work on these old cars. (she has all the proper PPE on and i make sure of that)

I would also like to thank all the Skylark Veterans out there who have been very helpful. Without you, I'd be totally clueless. Couldn't do it without your help.

I also agree with the comment that we are all not all ricers. I'm a lover of stock, what could I say :p

This is actually a great time to be on this board and be Buick owner. There are some folks on here that have owned their Buicks as long as others have been on the planet. Point is, there is some extremely valuable knowledge to be sourced here and the long-time Buick owners all seem to be eager to help out those of us who are still learning, even on the basic stuff.

In addition, many of the long-time Buick owners have paved the way for reproduction and aftermarket performance parts over the years. I mean, come on! A HUGE appreciation and gratitude is in order for that alone.

So, thanks to you all who have played a part in building this Buick hobby in such a way. Really, thanks a million.

I hope more younger people catch on to it. :beer

    Louie,
Thanks for posting and its refreshing to hear your enthusiasm!

Unfortunately there aren't enough of you, at least around me. I love to see young kids involved in cars and I'm not talking about bolting on a fart can exhaust on a Honda. I don't know if its me and the area I live in but there are very few young kids interested in working on cars these days. Right now I don't know any kids that are. The only people that seem interested in my car projects are geasers like me. I know they are out there but the number has dwindled significantly from when I was a youngster.

When I was in school, coolness was largely measured by what car you drove and now it seems its how many features your cell phone or blackberry has. Where's the creativity and individualality in that? I'll take the $275 67 Riv or $500 70 Coupe Deville I had in school along with the freedom it gave me vs a fancy cell phone anyday. I know kids today would look at that say huh, why would you want that? :Do No:

I'm 48 and when I was in my teens and early 20s it seemed there was no shortage of kids/friends who were into cars in some form or another.
Times have changed thats for sure and I'm not saying one way is any better than the other. I blame it on the video game invasion and the parents who are content to leave kids planted in front of them for hours on end. Or insist on getting their kid involved in various school sports that consume every waking moment eliminating any possibility that would allow a kid to go be creative and use their imagination doing something with their hands.

Aww c'mon. We all know that's secretely the older guys way to make an investment...make your kid become a pro athlete so he can fund your car addiction later!
Hahaha, just messin with ya. I totally agree

The only way that the car/performance hobby can continue is with an infusion of new blood. The young guys may have a different "take" on the hobby, but I - as an old geezer, am glad to welcome new members of our hobby on board.

I'm glad to say that in my town, I'm able to hang out with a group of kids that are American Muscle enthusiasts. I have a few friends with mustangs and firebirds, one friend even has a '69 GS 400, but even up here it seems we're becoming a dying breed..

As a younger guy (26), coming to this board with no classic car experience, I've learned a lot from the older crowd! Thanks so much for the help, and I'm in the process of purchasing my 2nd classic car, but it's not a buick:spank:

Hey, nothing wrong wrong with being fully involved in sports!! I've been involved in football litterally 11 months a year for 3 years now and I love every second of it. I love my car more but that takes up me weekend time, also going out at night on tuesdays (wing night) and fridays-sundays (hanging out with friends)
