cancel his bid and make an addendum to your listing that people must have at least a 10 point rating to bid. Or whatever level you decide is appropriate to your car value.

I agree with Jon... especially since they will not respond to your messages.

Bidding isn't at reserve yet so now is the time to take care of this.
If you don't feel good about this bidder, take action and put a requirement for bidder to meet your standards.

Or..... Cancel the auction and park that thing in my garage! :TU:

I had that happen on a auction I had going for a 76 KZ900. He had -0 feedback for not paying. I let it ride and the guy bid it up to more than reserve. when auction ended he wouldn't pay and left bad feedback for me saying I was harassing him through out the auction with emails from me asking to be contacted to verify his intentions. Cancel his bid before it becomes a headach.

lets not get too hasty here. I would let it ride for the time being. The problem may resovle itself when a new bidder steps up. Its not at reserve so its really a non issue. Bids make an auction look attractive. Few bids and people start wondering whats wrong with the car.

Its like seeing no one parked out in front of a nice restaurant. People drive by and assume the food sucks.

  8. i was thinking along the same lines. if it meets the reserve and he is still high bidder then i may cancel his bid. I am going to put a message on there about zero feedback and brand new bidders contacting me.

cancel his bid,why wait for a huge headache when he is high bidder and you cant get hold of him, then you can relist and do it all over again.trust me i have 100 percent feeback and i have sold and bought items for last 7 yrs.lots of them might i add.why let him bid it up if he has no intentions of buying.if there is real people bidding it up you dont need him.

The bid can only help at this point. More bids/ more interest. Bob needs to monitor the auction closely which I know he's doing.

The problem with relisting is that the car rarely does as good as the first auction. Ive sold many cars on Ebay and its a consistent thing. The car will struggle to do the same number on the second go around. Why? I havent figured that out. Your first shot is usually your best shot though.

What pisses me off is the deadbeat bidder with zero feedback that bids on and wins the car in the last few seconds after it reaches reserve, then flakes out. Thats when I feel like reaching through the computer to strangle the guy

If it hasnt made reserve who cares. Once it does then worry about it.

I let mine bid up, once the auction was close to reaserve I did cancel one bidder on the last day. My truck did sell to a last minute bidder.

I would let it ride. Right now it doesn't matter since the guy didn't hit the reserve. It's only helping right now to get it to the reserve. With Ebay you have to gamble and hope the winner follows through. There are allot of idiots out there.

...the biggest idiots appear tom be the ones running ebay....

  15. I wont be relisting it if it doesnt sell or if the winner doesnt follow thru. I have decided that if it doesnt sell i am going to commit myself to it and give the title to a mob Boss for safe keeping with the instructions that if i ask for it back he is to "rub me out"

Or better yet..... Put it in the garage for the winter and in spring ( when some of us might be able to look at buying a car) re list it on the board.
