  1. 1967 Big Buick

1967 Big Buick One day at a time.

    Here is what happened today:

This guy drives in our yard driving this beautiful 1971 Buick Skylark Custom,350 cu.in, 44K original miles, blue with white vinyl top, pearl white interior, bucket seats, floorshift, 8-track, original spare, all paper for car including 3 build sheets, and window sticker, wood grain dash, pass mirror, non A/C car. The guy bought the car brand new and never drove it in the winter. The chrome on this car is impecable. All Nos Quality. Even the glass looks new. He told me has never turned on the wipers and it shows. guy I have never seen a car in this great condition in my life.

After the guy leaves my dad begins to tell me how fussy this guy is and how he thinks he will shed a tear if this car is sold. My dad remembers the day he bought it from a local Buick Dealer. He bought it and put it away, and mostly drove it to car shows and occasional sunday drives.
The paint is incredible for it's age. Guy's this car is in awesome shape you have my word on that. You will not be dissapointed if you bought it. I felt honored to be in it's presents. it's that nice, especially the interior.

Here is what has been replaced or changed:

    shocks (4)
    spark plug wires
    hoses and clamps
    water pump
rims ( he has all 4 original rims, tires, and hub caps that never seen the road)
He added 2 emblems to the doors just above the body side moldings on each door.
He had the car undercoated about 15+ years ago.

This car is solid and I mean solid. The thing is in impecable condition and I mean impecable. I can't stress this enough.

    He is asking $22k obo

Nice, clean, original car....he won't get $22k for it. You can buy a nice GS for that amount. More likely to sell in the $10-13k range.

I told him he would have to be in the $15K range before anyone would bite.

I wish I had the money, because It would be mine.

With the exchange rate as it is today, that car is awfully tempting. Not too far away I couldn't drive down & trailer it home. Wife likes the blue better than my yellow.
I'm very tempted as I've more than that into my car as it sits today.
I'll have to really consider this.:TU:

The exchange rate for US dollars in absolutely horrible. The peso is probably worth more now. Go for it!

I've always wondered how people could afford to just buy a new car and not drive it, its crazy!! I wonder if anybody is doing that with todays cars, like a Toyota Corolla, that'd be funny, haha.

It is a VERY nice car. Remember that thread a while back for that big Pontiac that was almost like that? The seller was having a hard time getting 8K for it. Too bad it's not a GS.

    The seller should keep it.

Looking for something just like this one to use as a daily driver,
except this is too nice. Be afraid to drive it anywhere!
Bet it's never been north of 55 mph either.
Bought a 67 Special from a guy in Wisconsin that had rebuilt the 300 with a mild cam, four barrel,
and added duals and a th350 too. When I got home to Ohio, I called him to tell him how great it ran on the trip.
That it zipped along at 80 with no problem and wanted more!
I heard a gasp on the other end of the line, then he explained that he never had it over 50 mph
and that was only a couple times. That was a sweet running little car!

Can I get some close up shots of the emblems added to the doors? Are these emblems glued on or drilled on? Could you provide some underhood shots and underbody/under engine shots? I am real interested.

    Thanks,

I have to go to his place to get more picture's, so be patient with me.
I have so many irons in the fire right now, that getting out to do something is like pulling teeth.
As for the door emblems I know they were drilled.

I have a car similar to this one, mine is a 37,xxx mile 72 though. I wouldn't even consider anything less than 16k for mine. Nowadays you can hardly find a rust free car, paint it, put interior in, and do a motor for less than 20k. I mean an actual rust free one, this car has an awesome color combo.
