Hope this isn't a repeat but I was watching Musclecar on Spike today and they went looking for a new project. they found and picked up a 73 Buick Century. It has a 350 Chevy in it currently but sounds like they may drop in a 455. Picked it up running for $1500. They are looking to do a budget build with a total cost of $10K. maybe they'll join here and work with T/A for performance parts. Time will tell. Tim
If they need 73 info or parts that I wont sell call me or John Csordas. We r the 73 gurus??? LOL When will this be on again? Thanks. A 73 Buick on TV. WOW:3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
Who in their right mind would own such a heavy beast?? I don't see what all the hubaloo is about...lol
I had the first few minutes on before switching to Speed for Nationwide qualifying. They repeat the same Saturday shows on Sunday, so it'll be on again tomorrow.
Gotta give 'em a little extra credit for that comment! Finally, we get to see a tv build worth watching! With $1,500 into the car, it'll be interesting to see if they can get all the other parts - including the 455 - with the remaining $8,500!
I'd have donated my car for a complete rebuild... The biggest difference is they get all the parts free or low cost compared to guys like me. I have been wanting a set of the triangular window trim for eons, but I'd be damned if I will shell out 3-4 bills for 2 plastic pieces...My car deserves someone nicer than me I guess....But we have fun together. We are old,a bit worn and can be a pain in the ass when we decide to be..
Usually they work with the other shows for help in the build. Maybe horsepower will finally do a Buick engine build. Tim
If your looking to record it, its called "project blue collar Buick" Its debut episdode is on next Saturday. No episodes of it tommorow. Tommorows episodes are: 2 chip Foose mustangs, 1 or 2 61 Impalas and "plan your next project" Louie
That's funny, my PVR Scheduled Recordings shows "61 Impala: Red Sled" at 10:30am and "Project Blue Collar Buick Debut" at 12:30pm
Just saw this episode that i had DVR'd. Loved the comment about the chevy engine, I hope they go through with the 455 idea. They should after the chevy engine comment :TU: anyways should be cool. I'm gonna leave them an email thanking them for picking out something different than the usual TV show builds. ~Scott
Today's episodes were 2 chip Foose mustangs, 1 or 2 61 Impalas and "plan your next project" The plan your next project is the one where they selected the 73 century. not a bad looking car. They did mention putting in a 455 several times. The Project Blue Collar Buick debut is next weekend, the 27th at 12:30 pm I guess they'll get a start on the Buick.
Damn missed it again!ou: Pat sorry you r the guru for 73 my mistake. Anyway I have a set of moldings for you. Gonna pick up alot of stuff this week and u rub my back with Sloan and docs. The moldings plastic r yours (got stainless too butou: )
BUICKS ROCK!!!!! but i'd like to rebuild Courtney Hansan rear end. great show, good to see a buick johnny
It was like watching a sporting event. When I saw that A GS was on the list it was like the ball was in the air for a touch down. Then they said to0 expensive it was pass incomplete. Then when they said BOP cars where a possibility it was like we got the ball back first and goal. Then the comment about a chevy in a Buick now the ball is in the air again for a touch down. Then the 455 comment..... Score!!! It's all tied up. Then the guy wants 1700, host comes back with wow that is too high now looks like we are not gong to get the ball back to win the game. Then when he offers 1500 we have the QB on the run in his own end zone. Then he takes the offer we sacked the QB in his end zone.... Safety......Game Over!!! Chips and Beer go everywhere. :beer
The place they picked up the car at is in Fayetteville Tenn....Stovalls towing......he is a big GTO man with many restored under his belt, he has been on T.V. before with a Mustang and a GTO....with Dennis Gage I think....has a bunch of stuff somewhat reasonable...wont let me take pics tho, thinks I will try selling vehicles without his knowlegde, said someone else tried to do it.....Oh yeah about an 45minutes from my house..Steve
I also saw the show on sat. then watched it again on sunday because I couldn't believe it really happened. Will be cool to see a Buick on for a couple shows. I think I will send them an e-mail too just to say, WOW you finally did something I like!!
