I wrote in the other thread how this car will be a convertible. That car is a rust bucket. Can't wait to see what is left of it after they strip it.

    Old dude ripped them off.

I sent an email off to them congratulating them, and asking them to consider something even more offbeat - like doing a Buick 350!

My guess is that most of the project is already complete, and the film is in the can for editing. Too bad they don't put out feelers for viewer suggestions.

Not meaning to be over-critical. This is still way cool!

I shot a few emails to the guys at horsepower some months ago practically begging for them to do a buick budget big block build, I also said that I was sure TA performance would love to get some tv coverage, considering there the top buick performance parts dealer.
Wish granted. Ill be watching if Im not working.

Im really suprised actually that they went with a 4500 lb century, of all the sweet looking buick cars they could have shown off on tv the had to choose a century? No offense to century guys, because i've seen some cool ones for sure but it couldn't be that much of an expense for them to pick up a 70 lark or something. There gonna need some low gears, 3500 stall and a very solid 455 build with really worked irons or stage 1 street's to get that thing moving, something like whats in Yardleys riv, which is the same motor combo I plan on doing.

The heavier set guy on the show has a GS of his own so may be that is the motovation for the Buick Build. He did a Q-jet rebuild one episode that he said was going to put on his GS.

They got a 455 for it out of a Riviera on today's episode. Looks like a 73 or later cause the block is blue, I think.

So episode #2 is now out. They went to Tommy's "private yard" and pulled a 455 from a Riv. I think Tommy is a Buick Nut like us. So it should be interesting to see where they take this project. 1973 Century done up to pro touring style with Stage 1 power- maybe?

I wonder where they are going to get the correct 455 frame mounts for the engine???

There was only a handful of BB Century's built in 73-74:Smarty:

I wonder. With a $10k total budget, it might be hard to get to Stage 1. They already talked about upping the front brakes to accomodate the power, and swapping in a console and buckets. Looks like they revealed the paint scheme too. This is getting interesting!
