Thanks, but that is the whole package deal. I was wondering about the top mount depth. The smallest I can find is 1 11/16 like these, http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSG1644/Pioneer-TS-G1644R.html?tp=95. All the other Pioneer speakers I see have larger top mount depths.
Hey Larry I googled for pioneer 6.5 1 5/8" They have a few models that show up on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A1674R-A-Series-3-Way-Speakers/dp/B004CLYOHI You could also maybe contact the seller of the panels http://www.ebay.com/itm/170774445208?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I bet they'd have speakers they'd sell or provide part numbers that work from other manufactures
I bought the aftermarket kick panel setup loaded with Pioneer speakers. I found it easier to modify the pedal. I just cut part the pedal off the speaker side of the parking brake lever on my 67 Skylark. I used weatherstrip adhesive to keep the rubber pad affixed to the metal pad underneath. Voila! It's easy if you don't mind the method.
I had a set of speakers with just under 2" depth. They would hit metal on the drivers side. The fit of the panels really surprised me - they fit really well and look good. its nice to work on the car now - with some tunes playing!!
I have found several speakers with 1 11/16" top mount depth, but only one with 1 5/8" so far. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_39878_Pioneer-TS-G1644R.html Found some Clarions too, http://soundwarehouseutah.com/speakers2.htm
I also bought a kick panel speaker set loaded with Pioneer 6 inchers ( I think 6" ) for my 67 Skylark with factory AC. I didn't want to fret over more expense or shallower replacement speakers or grilles for what was already a pretty expensive upgrade. There's so much factory bracing behind that area that "persuasion" with a hammer yielded very little extra room for the speaker. I also wanted to keep the duramat-like stuff on that area. So, I simply cut enough of the parking brake pedal off, on the speaker side, to gain the clearance I needed. I then used weatherstrip adhesive to affix the rubber pad to what remained of the steel pad welded to the pedal arm. This worked for me and provided more than enough clearance.
I just finished installing the E Bay kick panels with Pioneer (TSG1644R) speakers. The Custom Autosound Secret Audio system sounds so much better with these speakers. I painted the panels to match. Got the paint with a lot of help from Sean Ryder. Sean works for Albert Kemperle Paints. He got me a nice deal and I picked it up at a store local to me. The match is much better than the pictures show.
That looks great! Have you considered painting the speaker grill? Any interference in the e-brake lever? I have a little in mine, was going to bend the pedal a bit, and seek thinner covers.
I considered painting the cover and grills, but decided not to. I like the contrast better. Yes there is some interference, I will try to move the parking brake assembly over a bit.
for anyone that wants options versus the Custom Autosound kicks found on ebaysor to those that dont want to make a fiberglass kick heres. Theirs two others options made by The Shop LLC. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk232/THESHOPLLC/MUSCLEMUSIC2013.jpg according to top link/picture, budget kick panels are $ 149 http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?84995-Budget-kick-panels-(these-kick-a-) at $225 http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?80484-68-72-chevelle-custom-kicks-with-speakers&highlight= $599 By the way, yours looks good Larry I take it two way speakers?
Yup, 2-way. I'm not a big audiophile. Just wanted something that sounded better than the twin 3 1/2 speakers I had in the stock location.
:laugh:Frank, (mrolds69) asked the same question. It's the on-off switch for the Gear Vendors Overdrive. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?269223-SEM-Vinyl-Paint-Color&p=2219274#post2219274

I ended up using Pioneer TS-G1644R 2 way speakers. Had to cut some metal & dish the sides in to fit em. <o></o> Im happy with the sound, since I mostly listen to 60-70s music & AM Classic Hits. <o></o> I spaced the e-brake pedal an inch, turned out I didnt need to. <o></o> Thanks again for your advice. Took it for a 60 mile drive to a family reunion yesterday, didnt miss a beat & cool tunes to boot. Win.Win.
