I was thinking something similar when I test drove the 2015 Mustang GT. For $30K a lot of young guys are going to get into trouble. It is a fantastic car though.
I noticed the Hellcat punched the throttle on a late two count to get a jump on the ZO6 the one time he was ahead for a brief moment. In this video it always looked like the ZO6 was pulling out ahead on the kitty cat. Buick Eric / Oregon :3gears:
Lol, the video was made by "bad bowtie", did you expect the Mustang or Hellcat to win? :>) Plus, the Hellcat was probably had the $20k price difference in the backseat (Corvette guys don't know what a backseat is) so it was weighted down. :bla::dollar:
I have a 2015 Scat Pack. It's a lot of car for the money. I think the Hellcat is awesome, but it's more power than I would ever need on the street and the hype has convinced almost every dealer that has one that they are worth 10-15k over MSRP. I might get one someday, but I'm pretty happy with the 485 horsepower Scat Pack which can be bought for a little under invoice at a decent dealership.
Here is the big "Dealer" issue with acquiring a Hellcat: https://autos.yahoo.com/news/dodge-buyers-beware-dishonest-hellcat-dealers-203022842.html
And every single one of them just got recalled http://blog.caranddriver.com/dodge-recalls-all-of-the-hellcats-for-potential-fuel-leaks/
Yep. But a recall of every one nonetheless, correct? (or is that not true because its a hellcat and they are in fact gods gift to american (ahem Italian) cars?) I mean, don't get me wrong, Im glad you were able to dumb down the article for me so my feeble mind could understand if it was a major issue or not since I'm not at full mast over the car, I must not have the automotive knowledge to understand what the recall was, and for that, I thank you. I just don't get why everyone is putting this car on such a pedestal and defending it so much. Its a challenger with a big supercharged engine making unusable amounts of power. Cool. I like power as much as the next guy and wouldn't mind taking one around the block once or twice. But why is it so untouchable? Your the second person today that brought up the car and I casually mentioned I saw a report where dodge recalled them. Just brought it up as it pertained to the car. Not bashing it, just saying it was recalled as a matter of fact. Suddenly it was defensive "oh, its no big deal!!!" No kidding. Don't care. Recalled is recalled and that's all I was saying. Not like I insulted anyone's mother. Gimme a break. It's getting as bad as the Chevy/ford/dodge truck debate. "Thou shalt not utter a disparaging word toward thine holiest of the automobile, thy hellcat!" Sheesh..... Rant over.....
The Hellcat may be the most powerful and fastest mass produced muscle car of all time. I am not counting sports cars like Vipers and Vettes. That makes it special. Most of us love muscle cars. I tip my hat to Chrysler for making it. Fiat Chrysler is a Dutch Company based in Great Britain. They have done a good job of bringing an important American brand back from the brink of extinction.
Jim, Its been brought to my attention my post came across very abrasive and as a personal attack on you. That was not my intention and I apologize. That said, I do very much agree with the above post.
Here is a stock Hellcat, stock tire series of passes from Fla yesterday. With the temperature at 87 degrees, it did a best of 11.4 seconds/124.5 mph in the quarter starting in second gear. The weight is around 4500 pounds. http://www.hellcat.org/threads/hellcats-battle-at-mshs-bradenton-today.3988/
