This looks like an interesting Stage 1. Unusual that it has AC but no gauges or tach. Also, has the bare bones interior. Does it look right? I thought even the basic interior had the waffle material? The interior looks like 68 or 69 to me? https://www.ebay.com/itm/274534514859?ul_noapp=true
Funny how these cars were ordered. That's the correct standard no-cost 128 interior. Would be nice to see a Wayne Roberts report on it.
There are. If you scroll down the ebay listing page, there is a link for many full size images and a video.
That's exactly how mine would have looked on Day 1, except with 14 x 7 wheels. I wish the Polyglas came in a radial like they did with the Wide Ovals. I'd definitely grab a set if that was the case. Brian just put a set on his '70 SS 396 and he says they actually feel good. As an aside, I've seen this Buick (online) a few times in the last year or so. Kinda high end for a column shift car...
nice car but in Canadian funds maybe a little pricey for a auto coloum shift. makes me think the one i have my eye on is worth what he's asking
I thought yours didn't have a tire option (i.e. Blackwall) and the way it is now is how it would've looked new exc. w/14" wheels - Guess I could go look @ the Wayne Roberts. I'm not a big col. shift fan but it looks like a decent car & matching #'s so maybe not too out of line on price. Would be much more appealing (to me anyway) w/o A/C & PS (i.e. a stripper w/an auto.) & w/tach & gauges. Again, as we've talked about countless times, why do ppl sell these w/o the reports considering how easy they are to get (well, relatively easy when it comes to Wayne).
Yep- but correct "128" interior. As plain as they came. Reynolds car has that interior with the Rally wheel too? Does anyone know if the Stg cars came standard with the rally wheel? I'll have to look at my sloan docs. Sept my car has no power options at all (Except the Stg1) lol. aluminum front drums etc. I think the only option was tinted glass.
This is the standard steering wheel for a big block ‘70 GS and optional on the GS350. The “batwing” was standard on the GS350. The rim-blow and rally steering wheel were optional for both.
Wide oval white letter 14" tires. No "wheel option" was checked off, so steelies it was. Not sure how it was determined which tires came on it, though.
You're meaning the rims? No mine came with plain 14" black steel rims. It had the 1970 small diameter 15" rally steering wheel.
That's ok, I think I made the mistake of the size of the steering wheel! it has the correct size on it for 1970...16"? whatever is correct. I have the reproduction GSX on my 70 GSX race car clone and that may be the smaller one? so We're even!!!!
What a BEAUTIFUL car!!! I’m only asking because not 100% sure but I am fairly sure my 70 Stage 1,non a/c, 4-speed car came with “clear” non-tinted glass leading me to believe over the years that all factory a/c cars like the one being discussed, should have tinted windows but in the video it really looks like non-tinted glass to me. Now doubting myself on previous thoughts, especially since it has the 128 interior so thinking the original owner saved a few bucks on interior & window tinting? All I know is now I don’t know lol Thanks in advance for any clarification. Mine:
