Just purchased a set of white bucket seat backs for my 72 Skylark. They appear to be nice until I took them out of the package and they have black spots/marks all over them. These black spots are in the mold from what The Parts Place tells me. Just making sure that anyone who plans on purchasing a set is going to have to repaint them or live with the way they look. This is clearly only an issue with the molds on the white seat backs. They report all of the white bucket seat backs they have in inventory have the same issue. Total waste of $ but lesson learned for me.
Yes Sir, I tried having a civil conversation with the gentleman who called me today and his suggestion as was the first gentleman’s suggestion yesterday, just paint them.... I informed them nowhere on their website does it say this product comes with free flaws and nowhere does it say the buyer is responsible to paint them. They accepted they are selling flawed molds, they didn’t really seem to care.
I do not know, never got that far into my discussion. They said their supplier would not take the parts back from them and they have to eat the cost of their affected supply.
That does not make you whole, and should not be made your problem. If you cannot contest the charges with the institution that issued the payment, then do not hesitate to file a small claim. I cannot understand how someone thinks it is OK to not properly service a customer's purchase. That is the "risk" a person takes when owning a business. If you cannot do it with integrity and honest dealing, stop. I have had quite a few businesses over my lifetime, and always dealt properly. No excuse.
I hate to slam a vendor of Buick parts but they sure do some shady stuff. Watch out for anything they say is NOS. Patrick
Thankfully after this I have learned to not give them business anymore. It’s just really weird both of the guys I talked to there seemed like they could’ve cared less that they were selling an inferior part not identified as having issues on their website. I even asked the guy who called me if I could speak to his manager and he told me the manager is the one that told him to give me this information.
[/QUOTE] I mentioned this very statement to them and they didn’t care. They offered me nothing other than telling me to pay the return shipping to get my refund. Shipping would cost over $30 given the size of the box.
Paid by credit card? File a protest w/your card company. Have had success with this avenue of redress before. You purchased white seat backs, not polka dot seatbacks. They did not deliver the item you ordered.
You should hve seen the 70 GS grille they sent us years back..You could literally twist it in both hands, then, the center studs weren't even drilled or studs included..Took me awhile to go through the better business and for my credit card to get my money back. They thought I should py to return it.I suggested I drive there and personally shove it up their ass.. Shady company...inferior parts. Like Brad,I will NEVER buy from them again. I wont even consider their junk..
The owner of TPP is even worse. He sells his own stuff on Ebay. Eg sill plates or chrome strips between the side windows. He says NOS . When you receive a pair of something , one is NOS and the other one is repro. If you complain he tells you to look close at the photos. Sorry but I do not have the same equipment that the FBI or CIA does to enhance photos.
Has this w/a supposed NOS RF inner fender that had a generic GM label on it and had obviously been a used part that was repaired. He said to pay the shipping & send it back. I have a UPS account & had his account # off the shipping label and just charged the return shipping to his account, lol. Fiked a dispute w/PayPal & they refunded me what I paid him. Shady business.
I appreciate the conversation and feedback from all of you. I took the advice and filed a dispute with my CC company this morning.
That alone will prob. cost them $25 plus someone's time to deal w/ unless they just ignore it in which case it'll cost them the full amount plus the $25. Then there's the lost good will. They'd have been better off either paying the return shipping or offering you a discount to keep 'em.
At Cars Inc it seems like your bugging them when you ask a question, or maybe it's just Jersey. Inline Tube guy's could care less also when you try to inform them that 68-70, 71-72 transmission lines are different. As they advertise 68-72 as the same. They got pissy with me at MCACN and asked what car was mine so that they would make sure not to vote for it as they were judges for some award.
