Blue one is 87 Hydrostream YT with 225+ Yamaha....only 88mph so far. Will go over 90 but no hotfoot and YT known to blowover so go easy with trim.

Other one is 88 BAJA had 115 now 150 with 200 carbs....74 mph. Picked boat up for free and did some resto. Had moss growing all over and on carpet but it cleaned up!

8 ft dinghy has gone 32 mph with 15 Merc. Pic shows 9.5 Evinrude.

I had a Boston Whaler the size of the middle picture... with let's just say an incredibly oversized engine on the back:eek:
Oh to be young again, how did we survive

My need for speed on water started in 1970 when I put a 50 Merc with power trim on a 13ft Whaler rated for 40hp.
    48mph seemed fast then....
    Still have it.....

I play the drums (kinda) and can turn my hand to pretty much anything around the house and property.

I love to keep up my art chops. I draw while my students are doing their own artwork. I don’t take the time to do it at home. My students seem to like my work.

Back in high school, my year-long project was a steel sculpture that involved lots of welding. It was 7’9” tall. It’s still at my folks property.

I have some vintage tube hi fi gear and a vinyl collection. I only collect the cleanest copies i can find. Then, I make ultra hi res recordings that I can listen to anywhere. I have a high end professional digital recorder for that. Not to mention all the other hardware for digital playback. I do this mainly for albums that haven't been re-released in hi res format.

I'm also a snowmobiler. Was big into guns and building or restoring them for a while, still a casual enthusiast now.

I wouldn't say I'm big into any hobbies, but like to dabble in a lot of them. I've restored a 14' aluminum boat, then a 16' fiberglass boat, then totally rebuilt our pontoon boat, then finally built a relaxing picnic table boat!

Also enjoy throwing horseshoes, shooting a little billiards, fishing inland lakes and Lake Superior in the summer, snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter.

Built a cabin for the family that after 15 years is almost completed.

Also love to eat and have a couple Traegers and a couple Pit Boss pellet grills, still have an old school Weber charcoal grill as well.

And of course tinkering with the Buick. Bought it in '90 rebuilt the engine and painted it so we could drive it to the GS Nats in '93. It ran 16.0 at 88mph! Tweaked on it over the years and won my class at the Musclecar Shootout at Brainerd for seven straight years! Drove it back to Bowling Green in '96, then Columbus in '99 where it was running high 13s. Drove it to the BPG Nats when they were going as well. With luck on my side it'll be back together and we'll be driving it to Bowling Green in 7 weeks. I've gots a lot of work to do!

Well lot's of money has been thrown into this over the years! A 1997 22' Advantage Sportcat I bought new. Bought it new with a 454 Mag making about 385 HP (I think it was) Ran that for a year stock, it topped out at 76 mph. When the warranty expired, I bolted on a B&M 250 blower and a fresh set of upgraded iron heads and cam that made 699 HP. Ran that for a while, it ran about 96 mph. Spun a rod bearing one fateful day ruining the shortblock :( So I bought a new 502 block and built a 509, same heads and cam but a bigger 420 blower. On Av-gas it made 878 HP and ran 114 mph. Just before I moved to WV I rebuilt the motor again but "detuned" it a bit so I could run pump high test (less compression, timing and boost). The new motor made 835HP on the dyno. Hopefully it'll be all back together before summer gets here. Just have some plumbing and wiring to do!

I'm into boats, both full size and RC, cars, fishing, antiques, small dirt bikes (2 Honda CT70 and a z50), I got out of snowmobiles (had a arctic cat wildcat 700), and 50 other directions.

The boat was a 15' checkmate v- mate with a 115 Merc. I was running next to my buddy going up the lake and asked him when we got back to the dock how fast we were going he said between 58 and 60. He was on a sea doo rxp 1500cc with a supercharger jet ski. With a Jack plate and stainless prop I could have got more out of it.

The one rc boat is a 55" Dumas scarab 38KV it needs a 25+cc weed eater engine.

The other boat is a 42" hydroplane that is still in progress.

I have about 12 outboards including a Mercury KG7H, Mercury Mark 30H, a Wizard WA25E, and an Evinrude ducktwin. I have a 8' hydroplane, 9' runabout and and a 12' aluminum fishing boat.

Yup, me too. I have around 5500 LP albums, a few of them duplicates, but mostly single. A lot of obscure albums, some more mainstream. I picked up a harmon Kardon Receiver recently for it.

Pretty much given up my hobbies over the past few years. Arthritis and failing knees took me away from golf. Used to play most every weekend at one time Had a membership at one local course with a couple buddies and we got our money's worth. My best score there was a 77, but that was an oddity. Normally shot between 86 and 95. My strangest round was a 64 front nine followed by a 38 back nine. Best ever round was 73 at a local municipal par 68 course.
Oh, I'm a member of the "albatross", aka double eagle, club. Rarer than a hole in one.

Used to curl during our winter months. One of the few sports activities you could play against, and maybe defeat, top level teams. Got fairly good at it before my job took too much of my time. At one time years ago, you could even drink and smoke while on the curling ice.

Owned a 16 foot aluminum fishing boat from around 1995 to 2006. Not fast, but safe on rough waters. Hard to beat shore lunches of fresh caught walleye. I was designated filleter back then. :D

A more recent hobby is trying different cooking recipes. Fairly inexpensive, but can quickly lead to shrinking clothes. :p

...love pocket watches, but arthritis and age limits me to bigger stuff like wall clocks and a grandfather. Smallest timepiece I've tackled was a 100 day anniversary clock from parents' 25th. I don't count replacing watch batteries...

...ever since taking oldest son to Cass WV in late '70s to ride a Shay, I've been hooked on 1:20.3 geared logging locos. Got a couple Shays and a Climax. We're getting our second shots in 3 days, woohoo...

...I've collected music of my lifetime, 78s, 45s, 33s, cassettes, CDs, finally iTunes. Nothing special, just what I like. As a kid, it was worth the nickel just to watch a Wurlitzer 1015 play a record, so when Rockola created their Bubbler repro 1015 that held 100 CDs, I decided to put everything there, currently 94 burned Verbatim discs that look like 45s, with over 1900 songs, and room for a hundred or so more (max 24 songs/disc). It's a work in progress, as I find original versions on the internet to replace/add...

...didn't know what I was letting myself in for in early '70s when wife asked me if I could take out a dining room wall and I said yes. Remodeled that one (sold), current home of 38 years, and MIL's house (sold). Our house needs a re-remodel, which we'll start on shortly. I don't do masonry/concrete, too OCD, it'll dry before I finish...

I share other interests touched on in this thread and some that weren't, like restoring a 19th century child's sled, and sleigh bell strap with 36 cast brass bells. Time's getting short, clearly there will be things left undone...
