When you include a minus sign behind a word such as - brochure it won't bring up anything with brochure in the listing title.

Thanks for explaining that! I was wondering how that worked, but was just going to go with it without asking, because it works great!

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I put -fits in almost every search on eBay to cut down on the long list of unrelated items.

Just when you thought you've seen it all... that's a really cool ebay search trick.

Do you guys know the google search trick? You can search any keyword in any website by typing in the google search bar " Site:www.yoursite.com keyword" .... so if you want to easily find something about tires on this website, type this exactly

    Site:www.v8buick.com tires

And it will show all posts about tires or with that key word in it. You will ONLY get searches for the website you put, nothing else. It's actually a lot easier to search google like that then this website.

If you want to use an exact phrase, then type it with quotes on either side like this "Old Tires"

The fees got me like WTH!
Sold an item for $310 and my pay out was $265. But I haven’t sold on eBay for awhile, so that surprised the crap out of me. I’m use to the good old days 20 years ago. I know it was inevitable but dam what a shock. Old dawg here

I sold a Zippo lighter on April 13. I got paid on May 5. I then look at the invoice and see a $3.77 international fee. I called contacted Ebay and asked about the charge. The woman said it was on there because the buyer was in China. I told her that if you look at the listing, it says ships to USA only and that I actually shipped it to Washington state. She did credit my bank account, but it took another four days. I asked why it took so long to get my money from the sale and she said that it gives the purchaser time to look over the item. Really? I've been a seller since 2009 and never received a negative rating and I used to get paid almost instantly. I think it may be because they no longer accept PayPal.

The whole separation of PP and EB are a big PITA for me. Used to get paid and it would go into the PP account. When I bought shipping it would come back out of that account. Now have to transfer $ from the account that EB pays into back to PP to cover expenses. Used to keep track of the fees but now dont really think about it. is what it is.

I usually buy and print my postage from ebay; they (supposedly) give a discount and it comes out of the payout before they send it to me. Just need a printer.

I tried that but I can't seem to get that to work. I did use their shipping calculator and it ended up costing me on shipping because they estimated too low unless their calculator was only for printing from eBay.

Ebay has gone the way of many flea markets...full of new Chinese junk. I used to buy and sell quite a bit of used parts on eBay to pay for my car and motorcycle hobbies, but, with the potential of having to pay income tax on sales, high shipping costs, and crazy high seller fees, I'd just as soon give away what little I have to unload these days to someone locally.

I like that fact the I can "Buy it now" and not worry about somebody beating me to the punch. There are still deals to be had if you know exactly what you are looking for , and filter the junk out properly when you search, but YMMV. I have been a member since 2000, and snagged a good/must have items. People are going ask for inflated prices on some items, but hey, I would sell a nickle for a dime if I could. But of it is something that I MUST have, it does bother me. However, I do my research, and have never been burned or ripped off in 22 years. But, yes it is fading...

Then there is this ruination from the other end on eBay (don't miss the shipping charge!), plus the description in case you were thinking it was a typo : Screen Shot 2022-07-04 at 9.01.16 PM.png
