The annual BOPC car show and swap meet is happening again this year October 22, 2022. Come on Buick people, let’s get this car show rocking! Last year I believe we had at least seven forum members parked in one group, and we met a bunch of other Buick car people all around us. I don’t know if this works every year, but last year we were a little bit late. In my opinion we got the best parking of the entire show. All of us were parked under these beautiful oak trees that gave us full shade for the day. Awesome! If last year was any indication, this year will be even bigger! I know there’s a bunch of West Coast Buick people, and central Florida people. Even if your car is not up and running come on out and join us. It was a great time. I’m driving my car up there…
Oh heck yeah Rich! Can’t wait to see you again buddy. Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful as it was last year.
I was there in 2020 but missed last year. I’ll be there this year and might have one or two forum members with me. Is there an effort to meet together beforehand so we can cruise in and park together?
That sounds like a good idea Ray. I believe we did that last year, at least Rich, Jim and Retha, my son, and I thought another car besides me. I’m not familiar with the area so it would be better for someone else to name a meeting place.
I don’t think I got to meet you last year Phil, but I saw your beautiful car. I believe you were parked kind of upfront by the stage. If we didn’t meet I’m sorry about my crappy memory, and if we didn’t meet I hope to meet you this year!
Last year Briz was at the Best Western, up the road from down town, so we all met there. I think there's a Home Depot or something across the street from Best Western. We could all meet up there, or some place similar. I'll look into it...
I'll be there. Most Likely bring the Riv but might drive the Wildcat. Last yr Riv took the "Best Buick" award. Her pic will be on the shows official T shirt.
Ray, I didn’t get to meet you at Bowling Green and we were actually racing in the same class. Bummer. Hoping to meet you this time! Sorry Ray, I thought I posted this this morning but now I see that I never hit the post button. Anyway my thoughts are still the same.
Rich, I like your idea of the Home Depot parking lot. I liked where we went to lunch last year also, or I guess you could Collett dinner. They put us all in that back room and we all got to be together
Steve, a.k.a. Briz, are you going to do a burn out for the cops again? I think they really liked it and so did the patrons at the restaurant!
If the opportunity arises, Absolutely! Will be bigger and better this time as the car was not doing well by that time last yr. The issue with the L head( unknown at the time) was really making her down on power and pushing oil out every possible orifice. It used 3 qts oil by the time I got her back home.
OK folks, this show is less than 2-weeks away. I'm meeting some Tampa Bay peeps off I4 that morning, on the way in. I'm thinking that for the rest of the Florida Peeps that want to meet up to cruise in to the show together (John, Briz, Jim), we could all meet up at 8:45 in the WalMart parking lot, in Auburndale. It's about 7-10 minutes from the Downtown Park where the show is. I think the Best Western is just in front of it or very close by (for those that are staying there). The address is: Walmart Supercenter 2120 US-92 Auburndale, FL 33823 Last year we found this restaurant in Auburndale that was not too far from the show, and the food was pretty good. It was called The Pantry Modern Diner (if you want to Google it). They had a pretty big seating area and I will contact them some time this week and get their thoughts on a larger crowd. It would help if I had an idea on how many were interested in going there after the show. Here is the address for it: The Pantry Modern Diner 2122 US-92 Suite 6 Auburndale, FL 33823 If the Buick is not cooperating with me that morning, I will be in the Suburban (most likely). Here is a link to another thread about the show: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...in-auburndale-florida-october-22-2022.378701/ Let me know your thoughts folks... Here is the flyer again, too:
Got a few meeting in Wesley chapel at 7:00 am then another pick up off Fletcher & I-75 and last meeting place is Cracker Barrell off I-4 and CR 579. That’s about 5 of us rolling in together. Jeff is trailering his TA and said he meet up at the entrance at 9:00 Fernando
