You CAN do the seats yourself!! It’s a pain but definitely do- able! I’ve done a split bench and buckets…
Too funny not to share. This is a text from David (Previous owner) I keep him updated on the progress of the project.
The sheet from your GSX is dated 04-02-70. The sheet from mine is dated 04-01-70. It is conceivable that they crossed paths somewhere along the way.
kool,is the serial number on the top of the left rail?there oroginally a "c"upside down on the frame rail but it may have been paper, there was a diff number for a small and bigblok frame, the letter would be upside down beause the frames were stored upside down at the factory, frame looks clean

I would inquire as to their procedure prepping the metal after being soda blasted,..as it appears it was,.....I can't think of any paint manufacturer that will warranty their product over soda blasted metal,..not questioning thier ability or anything just throwing it out there,...your car your investment,..i would ask
Im going with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and it should be fine. I can also paint over the Eastwood stuff as well
I think Hugger is correct that if metal is blasted using bicarbonate of Soda, it NEEDS to be pressure washed with water prior to paint application. If the blasting media was Soda/Lime (which is a glass) then you can skip the water.
It doesn't look like it was soda blasted, looks like a more aggressive media such as sand. The surface has a sand blasted texture to it, and you can see what looks like sand on the ground. Soda blasting wouldn't texture the surface like that. Frame looks great! I blast a lot of my stuff, it's great working on a clean surface like that.
The thing that always bothered me about soda was,..is as we know absorbs moisture,..so anywhere it gets,...and not removed,.. its a wick,..much finer than sand so it can pack in tighter and in tighter areas When it first kinda came around you were supposed to wash it in a vinegar/ water solution,...had a few done and never seen them again but who knows,..leaves a beautiful surface tho,..DA with 80 and epoxy yout golden
