https://www.copart.com/lot/46923643/clean-title-1987-buick-skyhawk-sport-nj-trenton Maybe a neat 3/4 size little brother to someone's GN - it has the turbo bulge hood with chrome engine callouts and popup headlights.
I think the estimate of 43k is about 42k too high. These cars weren't really much back then. Like 160ish hp. Maybe 15.7 quarter mile times....pretty sad actually
The buy it now is 2,800.00 USD, but I agree that it's a slow little guy. But one wonders what a supercharged 3.8, tranny, etc. from a late model Buick Ultra would do in place of the 2.0L turbo.
This is not a turbo Skyhawk. 8th digit of the VIN is the letter M: 96 HP for this one, that's it! One of 3,757:
It does have "TURBO" on one of the covers under the hood and also has a 15 psi boost gauge in the dash cluster.
According to a different source, the M = 2.0L 165hp Turbo and engine code "1" is the non-turbo version. So this is an original turbo car. Turbo Regal Vehicle Identification Numbers (gnttype.org)
The interior on that thing is pretty good, looks-wise and condition. With the turbo motor it would be the most desirable of the Skyhawks. Though the motor is a bit anemic (although much better than what you could get in the early 80s).
I did an online VIN decoder check, also came back as the turbo engine for 8th digit M This 1987 Skyhawk wagon is cool, the front end looks like a Reatta:
A friend of mine in high school had a Sunbird Turbo GT convertible (her doctor dad bought it new for her). Black and silver, automatic car. I really liked it. Patrick Hers looked like this one:
The neighbors across the street from my parents bought their son a new red ‘87 Skyhawk for his high school graduation gift but it was the base engine, not the turbo.
Same here, i knew someone in High school with one, red convert. GT ,faster then most people think. for back then anyways It wasnt much slower then my 87 Trans am of that era. Side note: it had the same dash cluster as the Typhoon/Syclone
