I was hunting parts today for my Turbo diesal 3500 and ran across this unique Bad Boy. Talk about fast with class! Not bad company on building the body either:jd: http://www.bankspower.com/mercedes-pro-mod.cfm# Gotta luv this truck too at 222mph and 21miles per gallon!!! http://www.bankspower.com/sidewinder-news.cfm
Yeh, I'm still tripping on these projects! If you poke around under the Sidewinder page there is even a video of it SMOKING a C5 Corvette. Looks like it was filmed on a public street to because I saw some traffic going the opposite direction in one part!:eek2: Pretty wild stuff :3gears:
Now we just need one of their Turbo's for a BB Buick. They say they will make ito No: Guess that it the old "Speed costs money.......How fast do you wanna go?:Brow: " http://www.bankspower.com/twin-turbo-products.cfm
That was awsome!! I spent my whole lunch hour just on that web site. I love my diesel and have worked on big trucks for years. 1300 lb.ft. of torgue is in cummins N14 territory which is an 855 ci truck engine.
AND that SideWinder is a six banger:jd: :jd: :jd: ? Talk about yer "bang" for your buck:laugh: The guy at Rowells was trying to talk me into a Cummins in my Chevy C3500 6.5 Turbo Diesal crew cab saying allot of Chevys guys have done it. I'd still like a DuraMax but that Cummins with Banks breathing on it is one wicked package! Gas mileage, still hauls all your equipment, as well as haulin:moonu: Sweet!
Yeh, I spent the whole day thinking of 4" diesal exhaust systems, sucking up Vette's with a diesal truck etc etc
The cummins is nice but the ones here at work are very loud! I heard the newest ones are quit.We don't have any Duramax's here at work but we do have the new ford (Internaltional) It cranks loud but then is very quiet after that and is 325 hp. I have the old 6.2 and would love to put in a 6.5 turbo or just upgrade to a 94 crew cab dually. I can't afford a new Duramax! 48k is a little much for me for just a second vehicle for towing. It would be to big to drive everyday.
Yeh, we can't swing the 48k for a Duramax right now either but I have a good friend who is pretty high up in a company that has a totaled Duramax truck with about 18,ooo miles on it sitting in their fenced in back lot. Wonder if a conversion to a 95 C3500 is possible?Hmmmmmm
There was a low mileage wrecked Duramax for sale in Canada a while back, 18K for the drivetrain!!!!!!!!!!!!!
