Im out and about yesterday when I pull up to a lite (street is 3 lanes wide each direction) and the only car there is a black '65 Vette with BIG meats and a blower sticking out of the hood !! This thing sounds NASTY ... I look over at him and he's looking at me like Im driving a honda or something absolutely NO respect at all for my awesome American V8. I immediately say to myself when the lite turns green Im going to Tree him like he's never been treed before ... and just then a Dodge Viper pulls up on the other side me. I look over and see Venom 600 badges on it. Judging by the sound of the supercharger whine and the lumpy idle its not just some badged-up Wannabe either. He looks over at me for just a moment then inches up to view the Vette. The Vette does the same and the two of them nod and point at the lite !! What am I - Chopped Liver ?!?!? :rant: You just cant make this crap up - here I am sitting between a blown Old skewl 'vette and a new american tuner supercar who are about to let it all hang out and they're just totally ignoring me !! Thats it ... Im Going to chop the tree ... err, lite down like Paul Bunyan and spank them BOTH with it !! Someones going to be 1 ... 2 ... and 3 Left foot on the brake, Right foot bringing up the revs Im totally focused on the lite (whoes pattern I know very well ...) watching the cross traffic lite go yellow then red. I've rehearsed this before many times timing this particular light and BOY are they in for a whopping disappointment :TU: Its just a quick 3 count ... 1 .. 2 ... 3 !!!! and I must have cut a .000 lite because when I say I was gone, I was GONE !!!! :3gears: until about a half second later when the 'Vette passed me with his front wheels dangling and then the Venom sucked all 5 doors off my car !! Somedays i really wish I hadn't taken the RoadMonster Wagon instead of the GS :ball: :ball: ...But I DID get off the lite and part ways across the intersection before both of them o No: ou: :beers2:

It would have been interesting to relive that and know the result with Big Red. Sounds like you had some big dogs on either side of you that woulda given your GS trouble. Who ultimately won or were they too far in the distance to tell? o No:

I don't think Big Red could have taken a super charged Viper. The problem with vipers is that yuppies can't drive sticks!!!:bla: I saw a brand new green Viper coupe at the track one night. Broke loose every time on the 2-3 shift, let off and coasted the rest of the 1/4, he was running like 13 flat all night. He finally hooked it up all the way down. 11.1.
... the 'Vette was GOOOOOOONE but the Viper was chasing and not loosing too much ground. To be honest, the wagon really didn't keep up enough for me to see how it ended as they both stayed in it pretty long but my money is on the 'vette stomping the Venom. Sure 600 ponies is nothing to sneer at but that Vette was ALL BUSINESS and set up to run. As to how BigRed would have faired ?? probably not that great from a dead stop riding on my Cooper Cobra everyday Radials ...Im telling you, that 'Vette was setup and hooked awesume on the street. From a 15-20 mph roll I think I would have suprised both of them from the start but still might have come up short at the end. ... somedays you get to eat like a king and somedays you're the main course Oh --- and Sorry for leading you guys on :bla: Well, not really o No: :moonu: :TU: :beers2: :3gears:
