Got a new gas tank and I bought a 1/2" sending unit and a big filter from Robbmc for my 67 GS 455. Now I need ideas on going toward the stock Stg.1 pump. Looks like alum tubing is imposable. and I know nothing about braided stuff. Any tips?

We ran aluminum tubing on our red car from the electic pump to the front fender well where the regulator was placed. It would be hard to run through the frame. We ran it on the inside of the frame rail with fasteners.

On the race race, we ran -10 AN hose inside the frame rail to and from the fuel cell and regulator. Plenty of room for that and it will snake around.

    Good luck.

A few bits of advice about stainless hose. Stick with one company. Often mix and match does not work. For fuel lines use teflon lined hose. Will last forever and can handle any fuel. I found it easier to work with than rubber lined stainless. For the short lines you can use the push loc style hose. I do not think you can run through the front frame with two lines unless you remove all the old lines and grind out the opening in the frame.

Lots of different opinion here but I think it is a waste of money to run -10 to a stage 1 pump. It has a 3/8 in line. If planning for the future great, but then you will have to cobble something up from your stainless to the fuel pump. Also not a big fan of the stage 1 pump anyway. Just my .02 on the pump.

yea Doug. We ran -10 from an A2000 pump, not to a stage 1 pump. We do have both lines in the frame on passenger side. Nothing original was left on the frame or in the frame.

For a street car, I'd use the aluminum line. Much cheaper.

    Mark,
I ran -8 and -10 on the passenger side. Could not get both lines trough the frame so ran the -8 feed through the frame from back. I like the Al line but could not get it through the back end frame rail.

    For Gary,
A good decision on putting the 1/2 inch stuff into the new tank. Will not need to make changes in the future. As long as you are running a stock type pump you are not going to need the 1/2 inch line to the pump. All you have to do is put in all new rubber. At the tank do a short piece of 1/2 inch to a 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor. Then replace all of the 3/8 rubber line and you should be fine. If you need more fuel then upgrade to a fuel pump that can use AN line and then replace all of the line with -8 teflon/stainless.

Thanks for the Great response guy's.

I have some 1/2" aluminum line. I'll look for a path to run outside the frame as mentioned. I'll not use a return line.
Later, I will add a super mechanical pump and figure out how to add the teflon/stainless stuff when I can afford it. I will have to learn all the sizes, fittings and jargon too before I can even order the correct parts parts.

Any extra or good used line stuff for sale?
I got to the 12.30"s on junk parts and cheap stuff. Never recovered from the divorces:still poor.

Any other details or photos will be appreciated.

    Gary,
I ran a hole new fuel system this year. new gas tank, new Robbmc 1/2" sending unit. removed old fuel line and kept stock return line. I ran -8 braided line from tank thew frame above shock tower and down frame rail, threw frame to new Robbmc fuel pump. Attached a few pics to get an idea. Was a bit of a challenge to get old fuel line out and run the new line in same location but not impossible. Stage one pump seemed to be the at its limit with my combo. I run a FP gauge that I can read while driving and get 6-7lbs while driving and 4-5lbs under WOT runs.
