The Frame as you see it, is complete. It sure is scary flimsy with the crossmember cut out and the front bars attached. However once the cross brace which serves as a mount for the rack is installed it is rock solid. This is a proven design used in a friends Chevelle which is making over 1500 HP. The bolt in plate installed were the removed factory crossmember was, is to ensure no flexing which could affect front end geometry.
Wow! Hell of a lot of first class work there. That thing is sharp! Can't wait to see it up close. dave
Looks Great Wayne, Keith and the guys at Skinny Kid do nice work. Hopefully you can make the first heads up deal at Milan, I know its been a long road to get there but your on the home stretch now. I cant wait to check the car out.
There are 3 top Buick race cars I've seen in my 38yrs that have the attention to detail and function that goes into a NHRA pro stock car. George Sweezey(I'm sorry if I mispronounced his name) Steve Reynolds and now yours :TU:.
You were close Mike His Name was George Sweesy.. RIP.. I wish George would have live to see the "Tomahawk age" I just took a 12.8-1 e-85 single 4 motor that out powered his 14-1 single 4 525 by 20 HP.. Only the twin dommie tunnel ram version of George's motor was better than this relatively simple bracket engine.. and then by only 30 HP.. He would have loved to have a 555 at 15-1 on Q-16, with a pair of Dommies.. at around 1k HP.. Car would have loved it, hope it's new owner is going that way.. Thanks for the compliment. JW
Hey Mike, Thanks from me also!! It's nice to know that some people do see, understand and recognize the effort put into these cars!! I feel the same way about your ride..... it's one of my favorites of all time! Thanks to all of us that keep the Buick banner flying high with quality builds that also perform well!! I personally know of many brand x'ers that are all spit and polish... beautiful cars!, but get them to the drag strip and they're lost, (and if you actually get them to make a pass it's usually quite SLOW..... always some excuse! LOL) Wayne your car looks like it will be top notch when done! Good job. Steve
Yeah...Way to raise the bar Wayne. I've been throwing rocks at my car ever since you texted me the pictures if yours.
Jim,I felt thankful to have meet George his last year at BG I believe in 2010. He treated me like he knew me for ages. Classy guy and I felt sad when I heard of his passing. I hope he got his 8 sec pass cuz that's all he wanted. Thx Steve, coming from you......means a lot:TU: Gary,Your bucket of bolts isn't to shabby also. I wouldn't throw to many rocks at her
Well finally got to the track tonight. Only made 1 pass conservative tune, was suppose to be a shake down pass but it felt good after being out of the car for 3 years, so I drove it out the back. 60 ft = 1.17 1/4. = 8.33 Mph = 159.7 Could not believe it when my daughter came to pick me up in the shut down area. She ask me what I thought it went, I said low 9s. Blown away when she said 8.33, made her show me the slip. What a ride. Have some pictures but on my phone now, will post them tomorrow. Sorry
Way to go Wayne, Great first pass. Hopefully that will change your decision to show up for the heads up races now, 8.33 would put you in the middle of the pack I would think. It would be nice to have a Buick to cheer for once in a while. Congrats !
Wayne, Congrats! I think I'm up to 50 or 60 times watching the video. Hopefully there's more of these track reports to come from the Tomahawk "Generation". Hope you don't mind...Best Machine posted these so I am sharing them here.

Very impressive! That Buick is not just quick, it's damned good looking as well! Congratulations Wayne!
