12" Centerforce Clutch Kit

Discussion in 'U-shift em' started by forcedinduction, Mar 7, 2014.

  1. Can you run a 12" disc and pressure plate for our Buick applications or are we limited to a maximum of 11" diameter?
I have a TA Perfomance Billet flywheel part# TA 2038 and a Quick Time scattershield Part#RM-8070
I was looking at the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch kit part# DF024909 which has a 12" disc.

    Thank you for your input,

    David

I think someone else tried and it wouldn't fit inside the bellhousing (things would hit, etc). Chevelles do this alot but I believe their bellhousings are bigger

I tried two center force dual friction's in my dads 70 GS both were gone within 100 miles each no oil contamination or anything just didnt hold up, went to RAM puck setup 10yrs ago and its still holds and grabs just like new, its either on or off no inbetween and will chatter with a 342 or higher gear went to a 373 and its pretty much chatter free

  4. Scott thanks for the reply. Guess the thing for me to do is trial assemble a 12" clutch onto my flywheel, install the quick times bellhousing and check to see if everything willl rotate without interference. I will try and take some pictures and post them on how this does or doesn't work out

  5. Works in a Lakewood or QT bell. Will not work in a stock aluminum bell.

  6. Well there you go! Thank you Paul for clearing this up for me. I'm off to order a clutch:3gears: assembly.
