I just wanted everyone to get this on your calendar. The Puget Sound Chapter of the BCA will be holding the 12th Annual All Buick Open in Puyallup, Washington, Saturday June 11th. This show has grown to one of the largest Buick shows on the West Coast with over 175 cars registered last year. Contacts are Lee Davis 253-815-1094 or Rick Watkins 253-846-3630, or email Greg Powers powersfam@qwest.net. If you are a BCA member the entry fee is $10.00, Non BCA member $12.00, Day of Show registration is $14.00. We hope to see you there.

Address is 115 2nd Avenue SE, Puyallup WA in case anyone is using Mapquest for directions (Jerry's directions in this thread are good as well).

Show starts at 10, but parking starts at 8. If you don't get there until 10 or later you probaby won't get to park with similiar model cars. Awards at 4, I think voting closes at 1 or 2 (takes a while to count the votes).

Participant ribbons, Peer Judging, 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards in all classes. Lots of good food and fun, as Jerry said, there is a street fair going on, so all the stores are open, and there are arts and crafts booths, food booths, live bands, inflatable toys for the kids, etc., perfect for those that don't want to spend all day looking at Buick's (not sure who that would be).

There are about 20 different classes, so there is something for everyone!

There are lots of pictures from last year's show (and some from the year before) in this thread. I will be getting a copy of registration form soon, and I will post it here for downloading once I do.

Hope to see you all there!

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Chris, I assume you're in the club, right? Do you guys have any interest in having a website? I can create one pretty quick if you do....just let me know. I think the chapters might get free web space from the BCA?

    Tim,

I am a member of the BCA and the puget sound chapter, but really only from the standpoint that I pay my dues. I quit going to the meetings long ago. I know it sounds terrible and is wrong, but I am probably 10 - 40 years younger than most of the members, and I find the meetings to be pretty boring. Most of the members who attend are not into the 64-72 A-bodies, so if I am not working I usually stay home at spend time with my family instead.

not sure if they are interested in a website or not, or how many of the members are on the internet.

    Thanks for the offer though!

I just got back today from "down under". I'm looking forward to this years show. I don't know if I'll have a Buick or not but I'll be there for sure to catch up with some "old" friends. (Ken B. if you read this I'll have a special surprise or two for you!)
    Cheers

    Greetings All

I'll be in Puyallup for sure. Getting back from a business trip to Alaska early so that I can bring the old Super 48.

Chris - I finally broke down and bought the Smoothie II's - don't even have em mounted yet. This means you won't have to watch yours this year - I won't try to steal them.

Looking forward to seeing all the great Buicks again and hopefully some that haven't been there before.

Remember that there will also be a special parking place for Buick Street rods (pre 49 bodied cars).

I keep thinking that I may make it out for this one year, although I'm not really a show guy.

But this year I may be out of town on training.

    Ken,

Not sure which hotels in the area are good as I never stay there, but here is a good link to hotels in Renton, where I live, and also other cities in WA. http://www.hotel-rates.com/us/washington/renton/ Some appear to be as low as the $50 - $60 range, not sure you are going to find them for much less than that.

Guessing you would come down Friday and leave Sunday? I am not sure how long the drive is (I think we emailed on this subject before?), but there are 6 to 10 of us usually meet and drive down together. We meet in Auburn, which is about 20 minutes south of Renton, and Puyallup is about 30 minutes south of Auburn.

So depending upon when you are arriving and whether you are going to do anything else on your stay would probably dictate where you want to stay. I am happy to help in anyway I can!

    Dan,

If you give me your email I can shoot you a better copy, I had to shrink it down to post it. That goes for anyone else who wants the larger size file, just give me your email address.
