I just finished my 65. I put a carb'd LS2 in it and am looking to put new wheels and tires under it. It seems like a lot of people are trending to the 17 inch wheels. Sometimes I think they look alittle to big for the car. I am looking to put a torque thrust 2 with gray centers on it. Any opinions? currenty I have 205 75 15 on front 7 wide and 235 75 15 on back 7 wide. I want to put at least a 8 if not a 9 inch wide wheel in the back.
    Thanks

17s look good on older boxy cars

looks even better when you drop the car to where the top of the tire is hidden by the fender or even when the top of the rim lip is level with the fender(front)

I am dropping the car regardless. I love the way these cars look when just the top the of rear rim is in the fenderwell and the car has about a 2 inch rake to it. I think this car sums up the way I want my car to sit!

im weighing my options now......i want either a 17 front and 18 rear.......had debated a 18 front 20 rear but think it might be too extreme for this car..i dont want to do air bags....i want to lower the front and have that aggressive rake...and i want at least a 255 wide rear tire....
what are the make and model of that wheel you poested.?....those look really nice!!
i like coys wheels but looking for other options

Do you have disc brakes up front or drums? I have these wheels on my car.

I have a set of these for sale they are 17X7 and I think 4 1/4 off set. 2 are still new in the box the other 2 I had on the front for one summer 500 miles and put 15x8 up front as I had more clearance with the new control arms.

If you lower it and have disc brakes it may rub.

I am selling the set of Chrome Boyd's for 700 for all 4. They are the BOYD CODDINGTON J5R CHROME wheels

Thanks for the offer but I am going the Torq thrust 2 route. Why did you go back to the 15s. i think your car looked 10x better with the 17s!

Nice wheels! I would go at least 17" or bigger if the car is lowered.
