In trying to search for a wheel-n-tire combo for my 69, I came across these: http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_detail.asp?subcat3=1031103

Has anyone seen these on a GS? or know anybody that has? The price is outrageous but could be extremely cool if set up correctly.

I'm still trying to figure out the widest rim and tire that I can stuff in the back of mine ..... it's all in the backset!!

I Have a set on my 72 Stage 1, 17 x 9.5 with 5 1/2 back spacing on the back and 17 x 8 with 4 1/2 on the front. I have GM disc brakes all around and no issues.

Am I to understand that you have disc brakes on the back wheels? Is that possible to do on a 73 lesabre? Any info would be great. Thanks

    Thanks Dwayne!

What tire size did you choose? As I said in my post "If set up properly they could be cool" well, you nailed it !!!

I'm not sure if I could stuff the 9.5's in the back of my 69 but I will do the fitment measurements.

    Awesome

    Thanks Andy.

I tried looking at most of the aftermarket 17" inchers and found none that I preferred ... until now.

    Hi guys:

I run Mickey Thompson 275/40R17 ET Street Drag radials on the back and Pirelli 225/45ZR17's on the front. I think you would have no problem getting them to fit on your 69. I have 3" exhaust on the car and there is still at least an inch of clearance between the tire and tail pipes. Next year I am going to change to a taller rear tire and lower profile front tire. I like the 17's becuase they fill in the large wheel well opening on these A body cars. As for rear disk brake conversion there is a kit you can buy from most part stores, I got mine from The Parts Place.I am quite sure they conversion kits for most cars and rear ends. I have heard of people having issues with clearance after converting to rear disk brakes and then putting on stock rims but I think it was with Bauer or wilwood 4 piston setups. I used the smaller single piston GM calipers.

    Dwane,
Where did you purchase your Billet Rims from?

newstalgiawheel.com ... see the link I provided. The actual make is Billet Vintique. Newstalgia is like a clearing house for a few different brands of rims and tires. What is really cool is that if you buy tires also the mounting, balancing, and shipping is free. No sales tax also if sold outside of TN.

This looks combines the old and new styles of rims.

Has anybody seen these on a '67 Skylark? They are WAY off in the future, but I REALLY want to put these on the car. I wonder what offset I would need to be able to put the fender skirts on? A boy can dream ...right?

    Looks really nice, Todd.

What rim size, back space, and tire size did you choose for the rear?

I was just on the phone with with Newstalgiawheel.com this morning.

Do either you or dwane have problems keeping the billet clean and "not foggy" looking? They look almost chrome in the pictures.

HOLY COW TODD... your GSX looks AMAZING with those rims! :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: I've been searching for years for a company that made the Buick Rally rims in 16" or 17" but never found one until NOW!!! I know what I'm gonna ask Santa for this year!!!

By the way... $600+ for a Billet Aluminum rim ain't bad at all. Alot of the guys who are into imports and Dubs are easily spending up to $1,000 a rim!!! As a matter of fact I was looking at picking up a set of HRE 445Rs or 447s (http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels.php?q=/440R/445R/) at the low, low price of $1,095 each!
