What do I have to do to remove the oil pan? I took out all the bolts but it hits the steering part. What is the easiest way to remove this. as you can see in the pics i have to change the gasket because it leaks really bad.

As RJBT said, you'll have to remove the steering linkage. You'll need a pickle fork and a large hammer to break the joints loose. See if that does the trick. In a worst case, you might have to lift the engine a little

Thanks, it worked good. The pan gasket was so bad i wonder how it didnt leak more. luckily the pan only had a VERY small film of that clay looking stuff in the bottom. maybe this engine is only 70k if im lucky.

Your engine looks very clean to me (top part)... If we measure age by the grime... then mine must have at least 100k or 200k more miles :(

I finally finished my small project. I did the valve cover, valley pan, intake , and oil pan gaskets. Hopefully this will stop my engine from being covered in oil. The color I used to paint is alpine green I got from NAPA. Close enough for me, my car will never be a show winner!

Also, I ran diesel down the engine when it was apart and cleaned the oil pump out. It made a HUGE difference in my engine sound, I ran it all day today and not one tick! its strange having it be so quiet.
