1962 Oldsmobile Starfire. 394 big block. Fresh paint. New interior. Run and drives great. We bought this car from a man in Nevada two years ago. It has been driven twice around the block. We were forced to move and don't have space for it. Our loss is your gain. Great looking car for the price

I'm kicking it around, almost too good to pass up....if it was a '61 I'd be renting a storage unit for it already.

Looks like a good deal. I've always loved Starfires!

Almost bought a 62 Jetfire (215 turbo) in the 80's. It was a beautiful Florida car. The only things wrong with it was someone stole the original front bucket seats out of it, and it had two rust holes at the bottom of the front windshield pillars. Otherwise the original red paint was beautiful and the car ran great. It was also priced at $1200.

wonder if when they restored it, did they polished out the grooves in the aluminum panels. a lot of them do and ruin the restoration.
the grooved panels were different thickness and different depths of grooves from 61 to 63 starfires. those chrome parts on the front of the doors are heavy.

btw, olds still doesn't know who made the aluminum panels for them.

Starfires were some of the fanciest, nicest, and most powerful GM cars made at the time. That one is kind of low on options. Loaded ones back then were about 6K.

the 65 and 66 are better cars for engine and tranny's and updates on suspension, but not for looks.

I was looking for one of these a while ago, in my estimation one of the prettiest cars GM ever built. But...don't need another piece of furniture holding down the pad in my garage.

    62 Olds Starfire

Oldsmobile’s top of the line Starfire!
Partially restored classic project, it’s been in storage for 10 years plus! No rust. Rebuilt Olds 394, have receipts. Have boxes of parts, stacks of paperwork, receipts, provenance. Will not sell parts separately.

The engine, Olds 394 6.5l, was completely rebuilt. With less than 400 miles on rebuild. New motor mounts. Rebuilt brass top radiator and heater core. New gas tank sending unit. New chrome master cylinder, all new drum brake shoes and hardware. New front taper wheel bearings. The interior has been POR-15 and sound dampened. The entire undercarriage and frame has also been POR-15. No rust. Rebuilt Speedo, rebuilt carb, rebuilt generator, rebuilt power window motors & switches, rebuilt distributor, rebuilt fuel/vacuum pump. Restored push button vacuum heater and vent controls. All new vacuum lines. The front bucket seats have been recovered, original pattern. The backseat is the original two-toned blue dyed metallic leather. Original carpet in good condition with floor mats that are sewn into it. The stainless steel is in excellent condition. The aluminum grooved side panels are in decent condition, with few scratches. The chrome bumpers are also in good condition. The paint is not in the best condition. Looks to only have been repainted once in the late 70s or early 80s, has red oxide primer. Originally all white.

I've owned it for over 17 years. I would have it towed as It's been in storage for many years. This is a very rare car built for the '62 Seattle worlds fair.

The custom built American made aluminum Torq Thrust II wheels w/ Vogue Tyres are NOT included. Unless you’re willing to pony up an additional $3000.

The Olds also differed from other GM cars of the era as it has a full perimeter frame. To allow for deeper floor pans = more leg room as well as extra safety, than an X-frame car i.e. impala buick. An all-new body and chassis with perimeter "Guard Beam" frame and all-coil suspension.

    No BS
    No trips down memory lane

I am continually amazed at how little money these are going for.

I have a running project that I am getting ready to sell in the next month or two. Kind of nervous if I'll be able to sell it at the number I need.

I agree . Not long ago there was a solid ragtop that was for sale for no much moolah near me . These were always cool cars IMO. I don't get it.
