I was just lookin through a 64 owners manual, and I was just wondering how many people have dealer installed accesories or options on their 64's?

I really liked the roof mounted ski/luggage rack, or the cool pop up tent.

Any one have any photos of these items installed on their cars.

I have a trunk release, and side cornering lamps on mine. Pretty sweet options if I do say so myself. :TU:

All the GM divisions listed those strange things like the tents, etc., but I doubt that very many were ever sold. I can't imagine any dealer would've stocked 'em, and they would probably have been district warehouse or factory part orders. Whereas dealers often stored old parts for years (NOS items), warehouses would've dumped that stuff as soon as it was out of date.

Yeah, just like the elusive trash can accessory that I've been looking for.

I've got the kleenex dispenser and the trunk release. It absolutely amazes people that there is a trunk release in such an "old car."

I have a 64 Riviera which I have owned for 27 years, have the tissue box, purse hook, trunk release, four note horns, foot controlled wonderbar radio, compass but the most rare is the fiberglass hard metal ribbed square floor mats the same as in the 62-62 Pontiac Starfires. Bought those 25 years ago, still in the Buick flat box. I have the wiring harness # 1 so can't put in cruise, automatic dimmer since that requires wiring harness #2 with the plug in's plus taking the dash apart..... no fun.
