I've reviewed the recent posts looking for trim clips, but most of the responses applied to the smaller 1965 trim size. If anyone knows of a stash of these larger clips (which I'm guessing aren't reproduced) I'd really appreciate a vector. My side trim isn't attached very well along the rear fender and the clips are shot.
    Many thanks,
    Dave

I have a box of these I am going to try.

I have a handful of the original clips, salvaged. A lot of them have enough on top and bottom to still hold the trim properly, so I will use as many of them as I can, and then fill in with the "universal" clips.

I looked high and low for the originals, but with the width of the side moulding and the location of the "bathtub" on the retainers, nothing seems to be a suitable match.

I have no idea the cost to get them reproduced, but it would certainly be on my list of things at which to throw my money.

I've spent mondo hours online and haven't had success. I'm going to hit a couple junk yards and see if I can salvage a few.
If I can get ahold of more I'll shoot you an email. I'd be interested in hearing if the metal fasteners you've got work out.
    Thanks for the info!

I have all new trim, but have not had time to replace it.
If I get a chance this evening, I'll try the clips. I have seen them used in other applications and they work very well when they are the correct size.
The metal "S" shape is rotated to hold at the top and bottom of the trim, and the "spring wire" provides constant positive tension so they are pretty well held in place.

They require removing door panels as you have to get to the back side to attach a nut to the stud.

So, I figure using them in easy to access areas, and using the OEM clips in the "blind areas".

Thanks for keeping me in mind on the OEM clips. :)

I haven't seen any NOS come up for sale on ebay in about 10 years.

There were some listed as cadillac on ebay but too short.

I sold a few extras to a guy in CA about a month or 2 ago.

These are like gold...........I've saved everyone of them that I could for my projects. I even saved some broken ones too.

    Just some teaser photos.

Many many thanks to you, Demolition Man! They appear to be exactly what I need to get my trim where it belongs. I didn't realize they had the 1+ 7/8" trim on the
'65's, I'm learning as I go! I just sent along a PM to you with my address and appreciation for your efforts.
Best of luck with your next project, sorry the sport wagon didn't work out!
