Been searching Ebay images of what I need to connect my horn, and I think I'm missing a short hollow round connector that connects my horn button wiring connector to the plastic spring loaded plunger that pokes thru the steering wheel. Does anybody have one of these? The attached pics show what I currently have, and why I need that round connector piece:

There is one in each of these kits which are still available from any GM dealer, you can read the part number in the picture. It has a little nub to work on later models which have a notch in the turn signal cancelling cam, but you can remove the nub. You will need to get the plastic piece on the wire behind the metal contact where both wire intersect, which means something must be disconnected because if the plastic would just slip over the metal then it couldn't hold the metal in place.
All the plastic piece does is hold the metal contact against the spring thing to make contact. Have you considered using something else, something to jam in there and hold the 2 contacts together? something which doesn't require disconnecting the wiring to get behind the contact.

    Good luck,
    Mike

Thanks Mike. Yes I might just make it work with something around the garage. I'm with you- I'd rather not disconnect wiring if not necessary. Just figured if it was an easy enough part to get a hold of, I'd get one.

So, from the factory, there was supposed to be that plastic piece pre-assembled behind the 2 wire contact? So if you removed the horn center, that piece would go with it and the wiring, since it's captured by the contact and over the wiring? just trying to imagine how my car's got lost (maybe it broke).

I have some rough horn bars here. 2 out of 3 have the plastic piece that looks to be what you need. I'll cut the wires and get you one of the plastic parts/ You can just have it if you want it.

Got my factory horns honking nice and strong last weekend. As you can see above, Brian G. went ahead and sent me some of his horn wiring free of charge. I do not that want that to go unnoticed here, thanks again Brian!!
