Looking for a 65 4 barrel manifold to put on my 67.Hopefully they will fit.I have a 64 but it will not fit. Gord
Does your 67 have a 300 or a 340 engine?? If it's the 340, you'll need a 340 specific manifold, since the 300 from a 65 won't fit either. If you have a 300 in your 67, forget everything I've just said.ou:
I would sure think that the manifold would have worked then??? Not to doubt you, but are you sure that the 64 manifold was from a 300? I suppose it would have to have been if it was a 64 since you would notice if it was a V6. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I would have thought they would work. I think you have cast iron heads and the 64 has aluminum heads, so maybe that's the difference?
The ports are different on the aluminum heads VS the cast iron heads. You can't use a '64 manifold on a '65 engine. Pictures supporting this were posted elsewhere on this site, I think it was in the small block section a couple of days ago. I wish you luck finding the manifold. When they do show up, they are expensive. Make sure you have all the 4 barrel specific hardware too such as the 3 port manifold for the PCV and power brake vacuum lines if so equipped. I think the metal vacuum line to the power brake booster is also specific to the 4 barrel if you have power brakes. Greg
