I recently finished the rebuild on my stock 300 engine. I didn't have the original radiator so I used a similar set up to make it work for now. I'm looking at some options for a fan shroud or just add an electric fan. I've enclosed some pictures. skylark rad1.jpg skylark rad.jpg

    bnapton,
Looks like your missing the radiator hold down. You need it so you can bolt up the original fan shroud. I have both if you need. I will post a few pictures of the parts I have. $50 for the shroud and $10 for the radiator hold down. Plus shipping. Where are you located?
    Thanks John

    I have the parts also.

Shroud and hold down for a down flow radiator like the one you have posted.

Just an FYI-Cross flow uses a different set up with ths top plate.

I want to move the parts out of my garage................I'm very motivated if John can't help you.

  4. In reading your previous posts, it appears the Skylark must be a labor of love. About 4 1/2yrs worth. So I'll ASSUME you intend to keep the car. As long as that is the case I can send what you need for the price of shipping , probably $25 would do (lower 48). Otherwise FREE. You have the correct brackets for the bottom of the radiator support?
Sorry to butt in on your potential sales John and Brian.
I would be sending what I consider to be a '64 fiberglass shroud: Which typically have a 2"-3" crack at the top. It is so tight that it's almost undetectable and just needs to be glued. You'll want to refinish the hold-down. Email me at sba3fch@yahoo.com if you're interested.

If you want one that isn't cracked. Mine doesn't have any cracks.

  6. As nice as mine is, never cracked is still better if the price is right. I would check John's and Brian's first.

Hey John, I'm interested in both. This radiator is the closest I could get to the origional but fyi it's not. It's slightly taller. So if you think it'll work I'm located in Folsom, California zip is 95630. Once I get a shipping quote we'll go from there.
Jim yes I'm planning on keeping the car. This is my 1st resto and I'm motivated to finish it so I can drive it. I've only put 20miles on it in 3 years. I plan on being on the forums a lot more. Working on the final touches.

    John,

Just an fyi . The shroud is correct but that hold down is for a cross flow radiator. Won't work with the down flow.........no hole for the radiator cap in the center.

If you can't find the bracket I have a few.

Thanks Brian for pointing that out. Brian do you have any pictures of the radiator hold downs?

  12. The 1st pic is of a 1964. The next three are '65.
Note how high the radiator sits above the support. I can't see that in your pix. That is why I asked if you had the proper brackets for the bottom.
I'll defer back to Brian for the selling portion.

Ok I went digging around in my storage and found the old parts. I think I still might be missing some lower brackets. These were on the car when I got it. The radiator leaks from what I recall. It looks like the shroud that John has will work.

View attachment 228268 IMGP5437.jpg IMGP5436.jpg I was going to just go out and take some pics of the brackets but that is one of the versions.

I have the versions with just one bracket for the center. But each one is a different height and width due to different versions of the top flow radiator.

Looks like you got the bracket figured out.

I can't find my good shroud. I think I may have sold it to a guy in Texas last year.

If you want my optional brackets for extras you can have all 4 of the ones I have for $15 + shipping.

I have the upper brackets figured out. Do you know if any of those brackets will work for the lower part of the radiator?

Those will not work for the lower. They are totally different brackets.

You can most likely make some out of sheet metal. They would bend like a U under the radiator and one screw would hold them in and them a couple of more bends and some trimming for them to fit in the holes in the bottom of the shroud.

I think I have a a pair of originals but they have been modifed. I just don't know what box they are in. I'll see if I can fiond them so you have an idea what they look like. They maybe already be in your pile of stuff there.
