ISO Bell Housing for a 1965 Buick Skylark Gran Sport 401 Eng (Nailhead)
The problem I am having is the fork is bent. I am unable to find a new one or anyone who can repair mine.
    Any help/advice is much appreciated.

Just wanted to say thank you to Ted for locating the part I needed, much appreciated.

Check to see if Jason Cook knows someone who has repaired forks.

The 65-66 GS bellhousing doesn't use a conventional fork.
It has a crossshaft spanning the inside of the bell with a yoke on it to actuate the release bearing. The crossshaft has a lever on the end, outside the bell.
What 'fork' are you looking for?

A GS bellhousing is difficult to find and expensive. Perhaps you would consider using a hydraulic throwout bearing instead?

I have had the shaft mentioned built by my machine shop. The fork is cast iron and is held in place by a key/keyway in the shaft - is the cast iron part broken?
there may be an extra shaft and fork around my garage somewhere. Talk to us :TU:

I have tried several machine shops in my area and there all afraid to try it. It actually isn't broken, but one side is twisted. I put in a whole new clutch and shortly thereafter it broke
one of the clips on the throwout bearing. I really appreciate your help. It would be great if you have one. I see that you live in Cincinnati, I actually live just outside Blanchester, Oh.

    Thanks again

Here is a picture of stuff I found. The fork has new hardened steel pins for working the throwout bearing.

    Hi Ted,

Would like to talk to you about the parts you posted on this page. Will you private message me your phone number, so I can get in touch with you? I'm new at this and not sure if I'm doing it
right. I private messaged you my phone number, and since I haven't heard anything, thought maybe I did it wrong.

    Thank you

    Just curious,is 401 4-speed stuff 401 only or will 300 4-speed parts work on a 401?

    Guessing:
the pedals may be the only common item. From the pedal to clutch linkage is unique for GS and Nailhead engine.

Fred: I sent my phone #, call me saturday.
