Offering a '65 Sun SST-90 tach and EB-9A transmitter that were NOS when they went into
    the show car in 2010.
Tach is excellent show quality, lense is crystal clear, no scratches. Transmitter is excellent also.
    New price $450.00 plus shipping.

How does the system work with the transmitter and will the Tach work independently ?
    Thanks

    Yes, runs with the transmitter.
I'm a '60s motor head guy and I am addicted to originality. So I choose what I ran back then.
wire to ground, wire to distributor, two wires to the tach.

The transmitter is mounted under the hood as close to distributor as possible.
Then wiring as described in previous thread. When the Sun Super Tach came out in the later '60s they did away with the transmitter.
One less "pretty" component under the hood.

I have the same tach in my `65 with no transmitter. I sent it to Redline Gauge and had it converted to modern electronics. Can't tell by looking at it and it works perfectly. Just a thought.

$195 plus shipping. I had my Dixco 'Don Garlits' tach done the same way. John does great work.

Why go through the added expense of the conversion? The nos transmitters are much less an expense and look pretty under the hood.

My choice, I suppose. And I'm happy with my decision. I'm not forcing anyone else to do it.

I was just wondering if the conversion improved the accuracy. Eliminating the transmitter and all.

Absolutely. It works like a brand new electronic tach. Very steady needle and it works with my MSD box.
